Recently Vishal Mega Mart is newly opened in our town. Checked their website (vishalmegamart.com) today and noticed that they also have home delivery facility. I placed an prepaid order of 300+.
11am-1pm is (Today, ie, 18th march, 2024) my delivery slot. The status which was showing as "confirmed" a while ago is now directly showing "delivered". Is this normal? When we places an order at vishal megamart do they update the status as "delivered" before delivery? Till now I have not received any phone call/SMS regarding delivery. But the bill was generated in the app.

In initial days even jiomart worked like this. Delivered status actually meant that order was out for delivery. That's obviously misleading. But for them the order is delivered once it leaves the store and actually physical delivery was handled by third party logistics.Β
Never ordered from Vishal mega mart, so don't know about them.Β
You may want to send them an e-mail stating your intentions to have the bank or financial institution reverse the credit to them AS ALSO separate complaints for the agony and chase.
Also let them know this on their social media pages.
If you can check for the contact number of the store or somehow get in touch with the overall floor supervisors or the manager at the local store, let them know that you are recording the call to make the recording available to your senior citizen relative (whose money it was) and after such legal disclaimer (about call recording) do ask them for the reasons of such actions by their logistics team.

After worrying for a while, the order was finally delivered. I decided to wait till the end of the delivery slot time and visit their store directly. After some time they called me and asked for my address.
Within a few minutes of sharing the address, they came on the bike and gave the delivery.
In case of BigBasket / Flipkart grocery order I have to wait atleast 1-2 days to receive my order. But, this is the first grocery order I received within hours of ordering. Delighted to receive within hours of ordering.

I do not now what shift would he be there in (when you plan to visit the store), but for now ππ―π’π§πππ¬π‘ πππππ (ππ’π¬πππ« ππ―π’π§πππ¬π‘) seems like an empathetic and humble person.
If I were in your shoes, I would definitely have taken an opportunity to 'meet and greet', besides exchanging contact details (e-mails, phone numbers).
ππ―π’π§πππ¬π‘ ππ is not only very receptive to the feedback, but multiple times thanked and confirmed to internally take the feedback forward.
(About the feasibility of something like a 'happy code' or an OTP from the recipient.. prior to the delivery getting marked as completed.)
This store in Tenali opened for business around January 12, 2024. The start internal operation from 0800 hours I think,
while the store is open to customers by 0900 hours and is open till 2200 hours.. sometimes even til 2300 hours.
Although this might be there only store in Tenali, for a while, their total count in the region will soon be thirty (from the present 27 to one more in March and two more by mid April).
Also, I cannot hope for Jiomart to have such clean and detailed invoking format, in another 30000 years too.
Unlike its competitors (like Amazon Fresh) which I used, Jiomart interface is not the easiest to decipher what we paid for versus what was billed (if item shortage) versus what was not sent despite billing.
This (Vishal Megamart) invoice seems like a proper A4 size or large enough sized printout which one can even file in one's records.

Big bazaar was so good that they used to deliver within 3 hours in tier 2-3 cities.
The next best is Vishal mega Mart, they delivered within 2-3 hours but have limited range of products.
I frequently order on Jiomart and they usually deliver next day of ordering.
