Virtual RAM is a marketing gimmik. Don't turn ON that feature in any phone. It is of no use.
Thats the reality. These days mobile phones have more then enough ram. Even I posted this but strange to see some phones dont have the button to turn it off. See
Infact virtual ram will slow down the phone instead of making it faster.
It has been observed that virtual memory operates at much slower speeds than physical RAM. If the OS juggles data between virtual memory and RAM continuously, it can slow down the smartphone considerably.
There's nothing like virtual "ram" in industry, here's the detailed info, the so called virtual "ram" existed for sole purposes of PCs having low RAM while in windows it's called pagefile and while on linux kernel it's called swap, irony android is based on linux but they call it virtual "ram", while the ideal ram size without any swap or pagefile is 32gb it's recommended to be enabled for low ram PCs(except on linux, it's optional) it's behaviour is just like a back bench and the os offload least used data there, but on mobile phones this isn't worthy of being used due to ufs storage limitations and Android processors being slow it's just a mess to deal with.
Well defined and compaired
I have a galaxy. Never seen such battery hungry phone. Vampires are better, they suck blood only in the night. I disabled the VRAM. May be, I will inform after 1 week about the result.
How to disable Virtual ram in iPhone 15 pro max? \S
didn't know that even s series also has this, have disabled it, lets see the performance now
Yes phone was heating too much after turning this on
Disabled this few days ago now some difference but not that good
Also vu
Virtual ram concept is bullshit I feel
Virtual RAM is a gimmick, and the latest phones already have enough physical RAM to hold everything in the background. More RAM does not necessarily increase performance significantly, as its main purpose is to store data temporarily.
Probably that feature is there to create a swap file to address low memory situations while multitasking or playing games on devices low RAM devices. Keep it disabled and only turn it on when you are playing games.
