NPCI introduces UPI Circle. Allow your family member to make payments on your behalf
Full delegation:
The primary user sets a monthly limit, up to ₹15,000 INR, allowing secondary users to make payments within that limit.
Partial delegation:
The primary user retains full control, approving each payment request initiated by the secondary user.
To add a secondary user, the following requirements must be met:
- Primary users should have an active bank account or other payment method on Google Pay.
- Secondary user’s mobile number should be saved in the primary user’s contact list.
- Secondary users should have a valid UPI ID.

Primary user needs to approve EACH & EVERY txn. So if you are in the middle of office meeting and your parent go the market and initiates payment but you cannot approve, the payment will fail. Your parent will be very inconvenienced and will definitely not touch this "stupid" (their feelings not mine) thing ever again.
Helping them create their own Slice ID and sending money to it would be far more efficient.
There are many situations during office hours where you cannot even receive calls, and the merchant will not wait. They will insist on immediate payment, by other modes.
So this is clearly a half-baked idea by some big shot in NPCI who does not have any connection with reality, just like most other half baked ideas of NPCI.
For this to properly work, the sub-user must be able to authorise payment, upto a defined daily limit, without the need for any intervention by the primary user.
And till such time, persons who have teenaged children and/or senior parents would have to make do with the likes of Slice pay or Prepaid cards like Fabmoney, both of which are clearly better alternatives than this half baked idea.
Most people now have multiple bank accts linked to their UPI payment app. Not clear whether assignment can be given for one particular bank or the secondary user will have access to all the bank accts/Rupay-CC linked to the app.
Unable to see it in any of the apps. Which app has this?
So far, only see this in BHIM app
Now I can give permission for my parents to my bank UPI account to use it more efficiently:)
