Truecaller Game Over - TRAI changes calling system in India !

How will this work for the actual scammers(big MNCs). Do they get these numbers in the name of different employees or the company name?

Will really be beneficial if implemented pan India.

Anyways the news portal seems crude and just meant for generating internet traffic with sensational headlines , hence unreliable.

Truecaller just got a plot twist: "TRAI'd and Tested, Caller ID Edition!"

TRAI people must be fined for such bevakooki wala idea.

How it is going to solve the spam problem? They are many good solutions available, if they want to implement ... which they are implementing this "shit idea" and wasting the money. 

Now when my daughter will call ... it will show "my name" to receiver instead of her name. 

Almost everybody if fed-up with the spam calls for soooooooooooooo many years and they can't find a solution for this. Trai seniors MUST be fined for their deficiency of services.... wasting money and time. 

This is one step closer to avoid misuse of id's saying I am from Police Dept, because now we can know their names and we can cross verify that info they said with the nearest police station before the scammers start their frauds xDDDD

a good baby step, this will not solve all spammer issues, but its a GREAT FIRST STEP

use truecaller and block any spams which make through, spam calls are like neighbourhood aunties, their will sure find a loophole

Truecaller has many advantage like

• Robo detection
  
• Details without saving number 
  
• Detect OTP and Auto Delete OTP message after some time
  
• and More

It does not matter much if name displaying or not 

It will reduce call spam for some days later they will find loopholes. 

If TRAI really want to help us they should ban on ROBO calls

I have an iphone and somtime back when elections were going on, i got various calls from Election Commision of India. For each call i got "Election Commision Of India" written

Best way is not to pick any unknown call unless you expect it. 😃

I had written to TRAI many years back to make a centralised online phone directory (like the old telephone directory books if anyone remembers) for both landline & mobile  numbers (including private players along with mtnl/bsnl) available with the actual registered name & location which can be looked up for any mobile or land line numbers.

But never heard back from them then!

Truecaller existed then, but wasn't this popular

Truecaller itself...is big problem, sharing information to other users. simply use Block on your Phone and if red screen just ignore of unknown numbers.

Really looking forward to it. I get around 30-40 spam calls on my primary number every day. Unfortunately, I can't change it since it's my main contact number.

GOI = Nach na jane angan deheda. They keep beating around the bush in all possible stupid ways.

Even telcos don't give a shit to trai orders. It's nothing but just nautanki.

Main issue is that Telecom Companies after paying hefty spectrum fees both under and over the table need

to recoup their money, so they have to sell/distribute connections and allow spam.

If they charge 1000 rs for new sim (like earlier for lifetime validity) and 1rs/min then calls will reduce.

Rightnow if a person makes hardly 4-5 calls/ day and 1000 calls/day are paying the same, talk of some logic.

Instead of giving unlimited they should cap it so that its used genuinely
