Hello, I feel im posting thread in correct place..
Query: Im trying to book train from starting station to my destination station. My destination stop is 5 stops before train's last station.
1. if i select start station to my destination station - tickets are in waiting list (pooled quota)
2. if i select start station to last station - tickets showing available - but higher fare than above - but I'm ok to pay as im getting a confirmed ticket.
my idea is to choose step 2, get confirmed ticket but instead of getting down at booked/last station, can i get down at my required stop which is 5 stops before last/booked stop. will I be fined? or is it allowed.
ps: i don't want to continue my journey afterwards and I dont want refunds for untravelled route too. i wanted to do this just to have a confirmed ticket. thanks in advance

Its perfectly legal:) to drop your train even after you booked:) then why just 5 station dropping will levy fine??

And this is absolutely legal to board from your station and deborard before the last station as you paid the fare for full journey.

Vise versa, if u are not having confirmed ticket from start station to destination station in pooled quota. Check the availability from previous stations to destination station. If confirm ticket available, u can book ticket from previous station to destination station and select ur start station as the boarding station.
