Although lard is OFTEN seen to have fallen out of favour due to vegetable oils and other fuel
in Chinese cooking and many other parts of the world.. lard is THE easiest and often all the cheapest source of cooking fuel.
And hogs/ pig fat has historically been the cheapest source material to make lard.

Why the TTD chose some obscure dairy instead of a state provider like Nandini or Aavin or whatever the Andhra cooperative is to supply them with quality ghee is bizarre. When you have a private supplier giving ghee at 320/kg you have to expect they are cutting corners to maximize profit

then the trust (or rather the trustees, junior staff) sees its own benefits first.
You seem to come from a very naive thought process.
Go to even the smaller ones like the treasurers of Siddhivinayak Bombay or others.. to seek nominal (even 10-12 crore) investment in some financial products
and see how wide their mouth opens (expecting to be fed first).
Also, it is easier to say that one can rely on Amul or other local brands that local governments support.
The peculiarities of dealing with them has its own challenges.
This.. after assuming that the said entities can regularly cater to the inventory/supply demands.
Higher ups or others too sometimes come in on the floor wearing shoes/footwear.

Just last month, i had a not so positive experience with (Dabur India/ Burman family owned) Taco Bell outlet, where i had raajma chanwal and other tidbits.
Despite writing to "Yum! brands" USA and India.. nothing much came of it.
Yum! leaves everything upto the franchisee to handle.
Far from things getting addressed.. the only real thing that Dabur India/ Burmans did.. was to have the manager in that city call us and give us the usual scripted lines.

I wonder on NDA govt in Andhra. They took sample of a batch on June, right after 20 days of their oath and blaming previous govt.
I read some articles stating that every batch ghee is throughly tested and accepted only when it qualifies. The ultimate suggestion would be testing the ladoo for foreign bodies

OP, Do you have report to share here? As far as i read in prominent news papers NDDB has said S-Value is more than anticipated value. There are multiple reasons for deviations.
Just try any fine market ghee and send them to the same lab. You get surprised results.
We might have seen real honey claims and lab reports a few years back, remember?
For the time being waiting is best option instead of raking this up that becomes a tool for already dividing India.

Last i visited balaji or tasted the prasad was in 2015. I stopped going to temples due to their too much VIP care and not treating aam aadmi as human being. I do pooja ( which i always liking, when close your eyes with favourite GOD in mind) at home everyday. This i am telling because ppl may twist my comment otherway round without any facts in place.
Why does no one talk about the TTD here? The questions should be for them as well. The whole world behaves like ex-CM Jagan, who literally gave these Fats while making Tirupati Laddu. Mr. Chandra Babu should have kept this confidential and should've leaked this information after taking action against those who did this. So many people visit Tirumala daily, and CM totally spoiled the people's faith and trust here.
Political fights aside, but if its happening here then no one even checks the local temples that we visit daily

People actually buy unknown brands of ghee that are selling on amazon at 350 a kg. Unfortunate.

Me and our relatives visit Tirumala multiple times in a year as it's near to us.
It's a known issue that SRI VARI LADDU had became too sugary, got adulterated and lost its taste in last 4 years. Every one around us discussed the same many time in last 4 years. From many years TTD used to use Nandini Ghee in laddu making, and last goat's board members stopped Nanding Ghee procurement. This was announced by Nandini mgmt itself.
Just now the adulteration thing is getting exposed through lab reports & that the Animal Fat thing is too hard to believe
They charged Rs50 for each extra laddu you buy [as per news] to poor devotees.....and they Got Animal Fat, palm oil laddu where cost of palm oil is itself Rs50 per litre......
Mass movement to remove Temples from any Govt. Control and separate board to manage.....govt. may act as a member but no full control....

Last 15-20 Years take proper count of Churches in southern states particularly Andhra... they grew 1000 X times. Just use google maps for a sample idea.. churches in very small villages also with very big buildings... who is paying for these constructions??

But,this throws light on many issues surrounding desecration of temples ,its land issues and other dharmic practices.
Many be the time has come to constitute a ‘Sanatana Dharma Rakshana Board’ at a National level to look into all the issues related to temples in entire Bharath.
A debate has to happen at a National level by all the policy makers, religious heads, judiciary,citizens,media and all others in their respective domains.
I think we all should come together to put an end to desecration of ‘Sanathana Dharma’ in anyform.

Many things have come to light due to the ongoing controversy over Tirupati Laddus.
Tenders are called once every 6 months for supply of ghee.
Each ghee tank is tested and certified by NABL (National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories). After the tank reaches Tirumala, TTD will conduct 3 types of tests. Even the slightest deviation in any report will reject the tanker. Ghee is used only if everything is fine. About 5 lakh metric tonnes of ghee is used annually.
In 2014-19, the ghee was rejected 14 times because it failed to pass the quality checks, and 18 times in 2019-24. It is common practice to check and sometimes return the ghee if the reports are good. This is a system that was established decades ago. If not, this is the first time that such a report is being used politically.
Tirumala is rioting amid such petty politics.
