Apart from jokes, this happens many times when seller has not uploaded the product details correctly or seller is new & not knowing things.
Most probably in these cases You will receive Completely different. Product or Soap π§Ό bar.
But sometimes you may get good deal also. If it has return policy then don't cancel now & wait for surprise
They don't send the product name in emails because they know nearly everyone uses Gmail & they don't want Google to have the benefit of collecting exact purchase data

And regarding the order tracking page - might be due to some issue at the seller's end while updating the product catalogue.
For emails - they have stopped sending complete product details due to the privacy policy they update I guess two years which forbids email companies to track customer's purchase pattern and behaviours.
I brought many products recentlyΒ
For each order shippment / delivered I have to check every order what's the update
is this necessary?
Fyi Amazon sends many promotional mails which mainly related to order history or search history and also on shippment mail Below they mentioned about recent product historyΒ

Recently it happening to many orders. Image is not loading in order tracking section. Nothing shady here. Small glitch.
my question is that why I need open app or Amazon page to see which product got shipped or deliveredΒ
Why only Amazon does this why not Flipkart, Ajio or others
I can understand hide details on packaging even can understand on emails but why even on sms or whatsappΒ
But in THIS (despatched confirmation) e-mail, the order number or numbers is/are CLEARLY mentioned in the subject line.
Also, BOTH the hyperlinks (ship track, print invoice) have URLs containing the Address UID, Shipment UID, order UID etcetera.
However, unfortunately even after a decade, one gripe with the shoddy copy paste type.. backend interface for the desi site is how the 'gift orders' thing is not properly integrated.
One very basic, easy and common sense feature Amazon gives is.. for a gift recipient to return the item without 'allegedly' letting the gift giver know in advance.
How it works outside is,
in case (whatever absurd reason), one places a CoD/PoD 'gift order'
and the recipient raises the return request from THEIR OWN Amazon account.. then the refund comes in the account of the recipient.
This, unfortunately is not how the software engineers copy pasted the code in India.
For prepaid orders, the refund usually goes back to source.. even though the return request was raised by the recipient in their own Amazon account.
So for those who are unaware..
Amazon has a concept called 'gift order'.
(It may not work for shavers/ blades, feminine hygiene products and maybe even some furniture type stuff.)
While placing the order, one can 'check box' tick that it is a 'gift order'.
One gets the option to even add a short .. custom note/ message (it shows on the printout/invoice slip sent in the physical package)

So yeah.. long long ago.. once upon a time (pre-2017)
I would use this method ro consolidate the gift cards/ amazon pay balance into a single account (if some chillar lying in multiple accounts).
Suppose if i had 200βΉ in Account "B" (a disposable or non primary account)
then I would place prepaid a 'gift order' from account B
then place the account closure request for Account B.. on the day of receipt of the item.
THEN (after Account B is 'closed').. place the return request from account A.
Even though the system triggers the refund, it cannot be added to the Apay balance of the (so called) closes account.
Then simply follow up with the CSDept.
That yeah, i got a gift from XYZ and i returned the item from my account.. but that account (of sender) is closed.
So please add the refund to my account or send me a cheque or whatever.
Later, even if one did not initially place a gift order..
in the 'your orders' section.. not they give the option of 'share gift receipt'.
Anyone who has that hyperlink (share gift receipt) can create the return (and i think even exchange) request.. from THEIR OWN account.
Kind of cool way to let someone return, if needed.. without giving them access to our own account.
(For prepaid orders, the refund comes back to source.. so obviously the gift giver eventually comes to know if the item was refunded.)
