They are killing huge number of animals in a most inhumane manner. They are bribing government officers to look the other way. REALITY OF BEEF BUSINESS IN INDIA.
Do you know that the biggest cow slaughterhouse (cow killing factory) in the WORLD is called alkabir in 400 acres of land with high security and many of the workers are hindus.
Al-Kabeer exports Pvt.Ltd. Rudraram Village, Andhra Pradesh, Patancheru, Medak, Hyderabad – 500 033.
The story of Al-Kabir Hyderabad Tyranny: Don’t think that these animals are killed easily and painlessly. Their agonies start along before they are dead. They are brought to Alkair in trucks, from far away distances for economy, 20-25 huge buffalos are stacked up in each truck. Nobody cares to feed them food, or even water while in transit. They are packed so tightly in the truck, that they are hurt by each other. By the time they arrive, they are no more capable of standing on their own feet! They are moved with force of whips…
They are brought into the final ground, where at least a thousand animals are stored. This is their last open air. They are kept here for four days, hungry and thirsty. Then their legs are broken and eyes poked, so that a ‘Certificat’ can be obtained about their uselessness. The hunger and thirst of four days cause the hemoglobin to move from blood in to fat. The meat with higher hemoglobin fetches better prices.
Now these animals are pushed into washing showers. Extremely hot water (200 degrees!) is sprayed on them for five minutes, to soften their skins, so they will be easy to remove. The animals faints at this point, but it is not dead yet.
Now it is hung upside down with one leg, on a chain-pulley conveyor. Then half of the neck is slit. This drains the blood, but does not kill the animal. After death, the skin swells thick, which sells for a poor price. But the skin of live Animals is still thin, which has better economic value. On one side the blood is dripping from the neck, and on the other side a hole is made in stomach, from which air is pumped inside. This causes the body to swell, making it easier to peel the skin. After removing the leather, the animal is cut into four pieces: head, legs, body, and tail. The machines remove bones, and pack small pieces of meat into cans for shipping to Alkabir’s headquarters in Hyderabad. From there it is shipped to Mumbai for exporting to its final destination.
Working! Most of the people working here are Hindus. The Director, Subhash Sabarwal, is an NRI in Dubai, and his brother, Satish Sabarwal, manages the plant. The other principals are Ghulam Mohammed Sheikh (Dubai), Dilip Himmat Kothari, B.N. Raman, etc. Even though the main workers on cutting machines are from Kerala and Muslims from Mumbai, the administration, security, etc. consists mainly of Hindus. There are several other equally large (or large) plants in India, owned and operated similarly by NRI’s and Arab citizens in cooperation.
The people working here are paid very handsomely. This is a big attraction. A monthly salary of Rs. 50,000 to 75,000 is common. At the site, there are many veterinarians, but their job is not to save healthy live. Their only concern is to see that the meat does not carry any germs which may hurt the customers. In fact, there is a small army of government veterinarians, whose job is to see that healthy and useful animals do not get butchered. But these corrupt officials write false certificates according to wishes of Alkabir.
You cannot easily enter Alkabir, because outside people are not allowed in there. Even the local veterinarians and police cannot go inside, so there is no question about the other local poor people even coming close to its boundaries…Security is tightened at nights with hunting dogs. Now the neighboring people do not even come close to it.

Though it may sound insensitive… But these kind of things happen all over the world. Watch any PETA video & you can see the same reality. This thing has nothing to do specifically with India.
FYI, Chicago is called the Slaughterhouse of the world & Buenos Aires is next in line.

and female foeticide , sati, dowry, and child marriages is still done in india. but new generation dont believe in this so i think future of india is bright. but in muslim coubtries like saudi arab, iraq condition of women is too bad. no respect is goven to women.
I don’t get this.
No offense to the OP but why does ‘most’ of the Hindus only talk about Slaughter of the Cows and not about other animals? Is it because Cows are considered as a God in Hindu Mythology or because only Cows suffer the most? The same ‘Torture’ happens to all the animals which are being Slaughtered.
I have heard that some country(may be Danish Law) has brought a new ways of Killing Animals without pain(I guess). People will not stop consuming Non Veg so I guess this is the better way.
Does anyone have any information on this law? @dimepincher @DealSeeker
Nope, not signing .
Banning Cattle Slaughter is not the solution. Enforcing already existing cruelty against animals law is the solution.
farmers unwilling to bear to cost of fodder of old barren cow will leave them to roam and die in misery. countless cattle die painful deaths on the roadside because they ingested plastic from the garbage we discard thoughtlessly. Many have had more than 20kgs of plastic removed from their stomachs.

yes you have asked the right Questions. OP here is seeing only the biased picture shown by BJP Netas, read the below article to get your answers
The rationale governing the ban is ostensibly this: the cow, considered sacred by Hindus, deserves ‘protection’ because of its special religious status.
Yet, if you look at the Vedas, the cow was revered but at the same time, beef was relished by all classes and castes of society, including the upper castes.
I’m vegan, I work for animal rights and I oppose Maharashtra’s beef ban

i mean that most of the animals were killed not for eating purposes but for only entertainment like for their skin, fur and bones for earning money. suppose tigers are killed why? but only for skin, fur , etc. is there anyone who eat tiger meat . only some tribal eats them and rest no one tiger . rhinoceroses is another example. even after so many laws still hunting continue

I am not aware of any Danish law.
But whatever I have seen throughout these years, this painless killing is a myth. Whether injected lethal dose of medicine, skinned alive, chopped to death, sudden attack on the vertebra etc.etc…. All are quite painful.
Extremely painful for d animals.. Those people should be done the same thing in much more cruel way
Adding to the topic, most of the dimers must be using leather products. If it isn’t synthetic, form where is it coming? Start change from yourself.

Truth is often stranger and crueller than reality. I felt exact the same way when I first read it – hoped against hope that it isn’t true. But the hard fact is that such things are fact.

Lets not fool ourselves – the fact is that legally, males have no “respect” at all in India. We are 2nd or rather 3rd class citizens. If you have any doubts, just go thru our laws. In short, and in case you are unaware, the word of a female is considered fact, and you will be left to prove your innocence (if at all…), Wake up, smell the coffe. The tide has changed while we were snoring!

I agree. Slaughter of any animal is a henious crime. And in the way described above… its beyond words. I don’t know how the cow has become holy for Hindus. Maybe it was just a con game played by politicians over the ages. There does not even seem to be any scriptural backing in support of this belief. Not that if there was, I’d buy it overnight…
But I will still support ban on beef, because that will ensure that the supply of meat in the market will take a hit and increase prices of meat, which is good, as it means less people will be able to afford meat. Hope you get what I’m getting at…
Also, let us assume that the cow is not holy. But then no other animal carries that hallowed status in Hinduism (rightly or wrongly is another matter, which I’m not getting into here). So if we demote the cow to a “common animal”, there will be no law to ban any kind of slaughter, since we haven’t reached a stage where we will enact such a law unless we believe it has religious roots. So at least let the cattle be saved, in the name of the holy cow.
At least the law in force in Maharashtra as of now bans slaughter of all cattle (barring water buffalo, I believe), and not just cows. Thank God for small mercies. Though God only knows what the humble water buffalo did to earn this step motherly exclusion.
And there is no painless or humane way of killing any being. The same issue haunts the issue of capital punishment for humans. Lethal injection, hanging, gas or whatever else that exists, nothing can claim to give a painless death.

Tomorrow if we succeed in totally curbing dacoity, theft and contract killing, I’m sure all these people will cry buckets claiming that their livelihood has been whisked away. We should legalize these activities too. After all so many families would depend on these activities.
Just because its “good for the economy” or because x livelihoods depend on it, does not make an activity any holier.

Stopped buying leather products few years ago. Will use what I have till it lasts, and will replace with synthetic leather or cloth products.
Animal cruelty is an issue that’s very close to my heart. So much so that if I choose to write at length about it here, I risk losing my privacy. But I will say a few things.
1) It’s the packaging of meat that has led to its increased consumption. I believe that most non-vegetarians (atleast Indians) would not consume meat if they had to perform or see the slaughter themselves. It’s the neat packaging that detaches the real cruelty from the consumers’ minds. It’s so ironic that the same people who feel queasy at the mere sight of blood consume lamb chops with so much pleasure. #SMH
2) People think eating meat or poultry is healthier as compared to a vegetarian or a vegan diet. I urge such people to see the documentary “Forks over Knives”. Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/embed/O7iju...Ug ; IMDB: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1...33
3) People who think that no animal cruelty is involved in the production process of eggs should see this video (WARNING: Very Graphic): https://www.youtube.com/embed/dug02...-w
4) India is the largest exporter of beef in the world! Although I was born a Hindu, I am not religious. But this just shows the hypocrisy and carelessness of Hindus. It’s just sad. http://time.com/3833931/india-beef-exports-rise...
5) I also recommend the following documentaries on the subject of food, health, and animal cruelty:
(i) Food, Inc. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1...37
(ii) Food Matters http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1...34
