Tax surcharge refund during ITR

If total taxable income is above 50L, then tax surcharge is applied (10% of the tax payable). But during ITR, after total taxable income goes below 50L after considering the deductions, would tax surcharge be refunded as well, as it would not longer be applicable since taxable income will be below 50L?

When filing ITR, we can add any duductions missed during declaration in company portal, then taxable income will go down. I posted the same question in company slack group and everyone said tax surcharge will be refunded as well during ITR

Yes you can claim a refund, since your taxable income goes below 50L.

The income you input at first is the total income, not total taxable income.
Taxable income is derived after deducting all eligible deductions. So it will not change while you file itr.
You are only liable to pay taxes and surcharges according to the slab your taxable income falls in.
