I have seen few TATA neu referral rewards in form of both bb gv & neucoins have been reported in AIS as income in particular cases where it has breached 50k mark in my friends circle & few twitter users have also shared the same
Anyone on DD got this kind of LOVE from ITD & how do you want to take up this proposal forward & what's the implications on future referral
Hope to have a insightful healthy discussion on this
Thank you in advance

Wow that's a new worry ....next is amex /onecard ref I think
₹57778 is neu coins ?
Does that means this is 5% of ₹ 11,55,560
Or approximately 115 referals
Or mix of both. That's strangely shocking.
This guy is like having ref as majority on Twitter he had posted multiple times about his rewards like goodies (choclates -gift items) etc as part of ref.... So based in that i think it's majorly referral
And 5 % shopping would most probably be considered as reward-discount as there is a need to spend to earn that reward whereas in ref it straight ahead
More than 50k, so its fine... tds is as good as tax paid... why cry then?
Assumption of rewards need to be relooked and if one isn't having much taxable income apart from this he has to go through the whole process to claim -new paper work etc.... As good as money is also debatable
I guess the person can challenge and report as error and classify it as commission income...
Yes that can be done but convincing the taxman and it's headache is much big than tds
if TDS is cut it must b come in AIs AND TIS
What is the total referral amount?
Pic not visible from DD app.
hmm i am just wondering is this reporting done because of TATA or HDFC hmmm any idea?
I guess because of TATA it is reported, usually TATA services are bad though:)
but here they (tata) promptly reported
hmm let me rephrase -> Tata Services are bad but TATA PRODUCTS ARE GOOD
It's the tata digital which is doling out referral benefit on behalf of whoever is paying (hdfc Or tata) so they're bound by tax laws to report & tds is filed on it's books
So TATA digital is tax complaint entity in this case
194R is a recent TDS section, non-monetary perks are required to be reported in TDS returns.
Nothing shocking.
