Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb makes another factually incorrect statement
Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb has once again returned to the spotlight of embarrassment with his latest faux pas, this time on Rabindranath Tagore. In a video that has surfaced on social media, Biplab Deb is seen stating that Rabindranath Tagore “returned his Nobel Prize in protest against the British”.
Biplab Deb made the statement at a function in Udaipur marking the birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore.
Rabindranath Tagore had received the Nobel Prize in 1913 for his work Gitanjali. However, he did not return the prize in protest. He refused to accept Knighthood in protest against the Jallianwala Bagh massacre in 1919.

also here is what his officer clarified already – “His office later clarified that the chief minister actually wanted to say that Tagore had renounced Knighthood in protest against the Jalianwalla Bagh massacre.” this was said by his officer when asked clarification .

now imagine media can see such commens of a CM which may be low IQ but crime is still not cup of tea for media ?? reason is mamta sued 2 channels on reporting malda few years back , after that media dont have dare to report . but no one will cry now for press freedom .
derek himself (TMC MP) claimed dozen of incidents , but media did not made headline of single one , no debate nothing !
