If this is true, their dilemma of upselling, cross-selling (via a single portal) versus clear brand identity.. took a long time to (partially) resolve.
seeing as that is an entirely different vertical, it might some day get hired off, as a business on to its own.
these experiments serve both purposes.
now those trying to only use the groceries or quick deliveries feature and deciding between dmart jiomart flipkart groceries, amazon fresh ..have this to take their mindspace.
however, there is always that possibility of a partial or complete rollback too.
the myntra blunder is still fairly recent, so to speak.
them deciding to ditch the browser sites in favour of an app only experience.. was just as amusing as them later reverting.
personally I do not care much, whether it is a unified interface or a dedicated one.
instamart has not been my first choice for quick deliveries.
there services never really picked up here, nor do they offer that good quality produce in this area.

I like Swiggy more than Zomato as food, dining & Instamart are all under one app. Don't know what are they thinking now 🤔. Atleast implementation was good. Zomato should have added food, grocery & events under one app. But they didn't.

Blinkit is already a brand, zomato is another. They don't want to merge the goodwill. Things need to be more fluid between the two apps and then only merger is possible.

A completely stupid move. Others are trying to combine various features under one umbrella but these fools are like HDFC bank, 10 different types of apps for 10 different tasks.
