Hi Folks,
Tried Bangalore's famous Rameshwaram Cafe's Ghee Pudi Idli today and loved it!!
Can anyone suggest me Pudi Masala with similar taste and texture? I would like to buy it and take it back to my home.

Yeah. Can you suggest the brand name?
I saw Aachi but it's very smooth. I was looking for a coarse one.
Any suggestions for that?

I thought you intended to use that name to create another ID.

Most commercial brands have a powdery texture anyways.
Buy it from a supermarket brand if available.
Or it's pretty easy to make. I'll give a basic recipe. It's the bare minimum.
For a small batch,
1/4 cup gram Dal
1/2 cup urad dal
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
1 teaspoon black pepper
5 to 8 red chillies(don't use kashmiri/byadgi chillies)
1/4 teaspoon asafoetida
Roast the dals first until they slightly change to a golden colour, add the rest and roast for 2 minutes. Grind to a coarse powder.
This will be a nice recipe for a beginner.
You can add a variety of ingredients like fried gram, sesame seeds, curry leaves, garlic, etc.,
There are non-veg varieties available as well.
And finally it's idli podi or Molaga podi not pudi. Just so you know.
