5G or 4G? I got a 4G phone for my parents last year, they're happy with it and dont care about 5G because they only use it on WiFi at home.

If curved display does not bug you then go for Realme P1 pro 256 gb at 16.2k, it has an awesome display with good processor and camera quality.

Factory reset the phone, I use the same phone on a daily basis with heavy codm gaming (low settings but I don't think your father would use anything heavier than codm), not once has it lagged in the 2yrs+ I had it

I want to buy phone for my dad. Only this imp is it should not lag. Others things are not priority.

Currently he is using realme 9 pro + and it lags a lot.

IMO the phone is not slow.

You just need to debloat using Universal ADB Debloater and remove trash apps that Realme install. 

You will see significant imporovements in performance after that. 

Go for Vivo T3x 5 G. I bought it for my senior citizen dad, it's a good phone . Vivo has best features, durability and robust too
