Someone sent an Unknown Parcel on My name!

Today i received an sms by Ekart that a product is out for delivery. I didn't order anything like that. I called delivery person multiple times to confirm whether it is on my name or someone just entered my number by mistake. Strangely the number, address and name is mine on the parcel and it is Cash on delivery. I never order anything on COD, not even any family member placed the order then why would someone order a product on my address with my name and number. I checked Flipkart and other shopping apps in my phone just to be sure, nothing is there in recent orders. I told delivery person to cancel the order and he did so. Is this some kind of scam???

Yes, for accepting and opening the parcel you will have to pay the amount to the delivery person upon which you will open it and see that it includes some nonsense inexpensive stuff for which you have paid a hefty amount. But cannot take the money back as you have already handed over the same to the delivery person

Yeah, it is mentioned as something "Bee Venom Pain Relief Cream", no one ordered it. Looks like some seller deliberately placed the order on COD as we receive many products daily so someone might have paid n accepted the order if i didn't pay attention to it.

No, may be not. People are more involved in cheating and financial Fraud nowadays so it looks like it. Most probably it is a trick to sell some useless products but I rejected it. Someone may pay and accept the order which, in such case, would be non-returnable.

Same incident happened with one of my relative almost 6 months ago. Someone created an account at one online website and placed three order of some clothing (not ekart, some different logistics). We were able to understand how he got our name, address and phone number. Actually, they have business and gifted (rather I should say donated) calendar to many people and the same details were present in all three deliveries. But we were unable to track who has done it. You should just return the order. If this incident takes place more than three times, contact police.

Yes, I rejected the order by calling delivery person. When i sense something fishy, I don't want to be curious and fall into some trap. Even if the order was Prepaid i would still reject it, I didn't order it and thats a valid reason to not accept. We order everything online and may be thats why scammer thought anyone at home may fall into this trick and pay for the COD order.

My dad was duped twice last year

some COD from Amazon and useless watch came my dad paid rs 899 without confirming from me

after few months another 1600 lost from ekart useless ( pressure cooker 3 ltr ubranded still lying useless) this time also without confirming from me

now my family do not accept any COD orders

flipkart and amazon sellers, ekart people are involved creating fake orders fake numbers using genuine addresses

Yes you are right, I was searching ekart customer care number to raise the issue with them and found other people are also searching for the same because they also received products on COD from Ekart! Strange!
