i recd an SMS from authentic header HDFCBK saying

We've got a request to link your HDFC Bank Credit Card no X1234 for UPI.
Not You? Call 18002586161 or SMS BLOCK CC 1234 to 7308080808
I called that phone number and they told that they dont have access to any logs and can only block my account.
Also, the the person on the phone was so stupid that, even after i told repeatedly that it was an issue with RUPAY CREDIT CARD ON UPI, she repeatedly insisted on blocking debit card and account and UPI on savings account.
should we panic??
As far as i know, the credit cards are linked on UPI only after otp verification.
could anyone please help me.
Also, did anyone face a similar issue.

** Some apps now adding new upi handles when you open... are you sure not of of those? Even a delayed sms?

Paytm is doing this to change upi handle
Blame recent HDFC upgrade.

Paytm is changing it's UPI handle from @ paytm to @ pthdfc and so on....Randomly it will select from 4 banks

Received similar UPI registration message from Paytm - Your UPI has been activated.
1. Never got any confirmation OTP, so can Paytm activate it from their own end?
2. How to deactivate this for a particular bank like SBI or HDFC?
Don't worry, everyone received same sms. Some UPI upgradation is going on. Don't block anything, then you will have to visit branch to unlock.
