Upi disputes not work like that only.
You have proof of conversation with him on olx or whatsapp ?
Last week, I sold my old but in near mint condition OnePlus 2 on OLX for ₹2.5K. I was using dual Jio/Airtel 4G sims in this phone until last week without any issue and 1 day battery life with normal usage. Today, after 1 week, the buyer is claiming that:
1) Phone is heating up during charging
2) Frequently keeps disconnecting from network (Airtel, Jio) and going into emergency call mode
3) Battery drains in 2 hours on standby
He says he did a factory reset and tried switching sim slots, and later took it to a mobile repair shop who are demanding ₹1.5K for repair involving phone disassembly, and wants me to bear the cost, but is not ready to return the phone
I'm suspecting he's trying to cheat me, but since the buyer paid through UPI, if he disputes the payment, can my bank freeze my a/c?

Next time record the call and talk to him .
In call tell everything that I gave you working phone if anything happens later I am not responsible for that.
Claiming chargeback is not easy. Chat through WhatsApp possibly same number number through which you recieved money and be strict with him that he must provide the phone back in same condition as you can sell it to someone else.. and if does return phone(which is very rare as it is a good deal) in that case request to send money to same number through which you recieved not another name of any shit will be appreciated.
he cant dispute in upi only payment through cc is disputable. he can lodge fraud complain in cyber crime cell that may cause issue but i think he will not do that for such small amount
dont worry brother just ignore..
just ignore. if he is pestering you then just say you can give him 500 Rs. take it or leave.
