Simple answer:
the following broad rules apply for ANY investment tool YOU CHOSE (not restricted only for MF's or SIPs)
1) if you HAVE time TO manage and watch daily news and HAVE SKILLS TO and WILLING TO LEARN THE SKILLS "to time the market" then DO THE LUMPSUM IN MF OR STOCKS OR ANYTHING THAT IS LUCARATIVE
2) if you DONT have time JUST GET IN SIP IN ANY LUCARATIVE THINGS
this is the only solution:) if you ask me
Side note: many says timing market is not possible ITS WRONG:) we can time the market based on probabilities -> provided if we have good SKILL and NEWS and CONTROLLED DECISION MAKING
