The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) is questioning Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan, his friend Arbaaz Merchant and six others in the Mumbai cruise drug bust case.
The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) is questioning Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan in the Mumbai drug bust case on Cordelia Cruises’ Empress ship.
NCB is questioning Aryan Khan in connection with the rave party that was busted on Saturday night after officials raided a cruise ship off the Mumbai coast. Aryan Khan has not been booked on any charges and has not been arrested so far, said Sameer Wankhede, Zonal Director of NCB.
The NCB has also summoned six of the organisers who had planned the cruise party. Kashiff Khan, managing director of FTV India, is also under scanner and NCB has reached out to him. The event was organised under the supervision of Kashiff Khan.
NCB sources said Aryan Khan’s phone has been seized and is being scanned by the authorities to check for any indication of his involvement in the possession or consumption of drugs. The narcotics bureau is investigating the chats received on the phones that have been seized from the drug bust.
Three girls who had arrived from Delhi to join the cruise party were also detained and are being questioned. These include the daughters of some prominent businessmen.
In a statement, NCB said drugs like ecstasy, cocaine, mephedrone and charas were recovered from the cruise and a case had been registered. The agency said eight people, including two women, were apprehended and their role was being investigated.
“On the basis of specific information, the officials of NCB, Mumbai, conducted a raid on the Cordelia cruise that was bound from Mumbai to Goa on October 2. During the operation, all suspects, as per the information, were searched and various drugs like MDMA/ecstasy, cocaine, MD (mephedrone) and charas were recovered. A total of 8 persons, including 2 females, have been apprehended and their role being investigated in relation to the said recovery. NCB has registered crime no. Cr 94/21 in this matter. Further investigation is underway,” the NCB said.
Jurgen Bailom, president and CEO of Cordelia Cruises, confirmed that the narcotics department found drugs in some passengers’ luggage. “These passengers were off-loaded by Cordelia immediately. The sailing of the cruise got delayed because of this,” he said.
On Saturday night, the NCB raided a cruise ship in Mumbai that was departing for a three-day ‘musical voyage’ with people from Bollywood, fashion and the business sectors. Sources said the raid was conducted following a tip-off that banned drugs were being used.
The NCB officials, led by zonal director Sameer Wankhede, boarded the ship disguised as passengers on Saturday. The rave party began once the cruise left the coast of Mumbai and reached mid-sea.
India Today TV has accessed the details of the event that the organisers had promised to the guests during the three-day cruise journey. The cruise was supposed to depart at 2 pm from Mumbai and return at 10 am on October 4 after sailing in the Arabian Sea.
The event, named Cray’Ark, was organised by FashionTV India with Namascray onboard the Cordelia, an Indian cruise liner.
The organisers, for the first day, had promised musical performances by Miami-based DJ Stan Kolev along with famous DJ’s Bullzeye, Browncoat and Deepesh Sharma
On Day 2, from 1 pm to 8 pm, an FTV pool party was organised for the guests. During the pool party, Raoul K, a DJ from Ivory Coast, was supposed to perform along with Indian DJ Kohra and Moroccan artist Kayza.
After 8 pm, FTV’s Champagne all-black party was organised for the special guests. Later that night, from 10 pm to 7 am, electronic music circuits by HOSH Space Motion and others were supposed to perform for the guests
