My SBI cashback credit card limit is X rs.
I need to do a transaction of X+5,000 in a single go ..is it even possible? How to do this? Limit increase option is not working as of now for me..
Don't want to pay any over limit fees.. please suggest

Use 5000 gv and then pay x amount from cashback card
transaction will fail as it is above card limit, only option is to see how much overlimit is given if they are not increasing the card limit but since you mentioned that you don't want to pay overlimit fees then there is no other option
Ask for temporary credit increase if they say no nothing can be done.
With bbps, hard to pay a little more than CL and use that net limit these days, try combo of cc+wallet balance... avoid overlimit facility, but try calling CC and ask if they can increase limit for a large txn...
What about advance bill pay 5k in sbi cc and then use in single payments few year back i use this trick on my idfc card and it worked… but please confirm before trying
With BBPS we can use only max card limit allowed...
Didn't tried in recent times but as op said earlier it used to work..

Yes its possible. But its totally up to bank to approve or not depending on customer's profile/usage. Call sbi cc callcenter and ask for overlimit facility. It is chargeable service.
