Wow! This was an eye-opener. As the top rated comment on Ycombinator mentions, this is not a victimless crime/scam. I feel really bad for authors who are dependent on Kindle sales for their bread and butter. Anyway, one good point is that now this issue will gain enough eyeballs to jolt Amazon into taking some action.

This is extremely long and probably only of interest to indie authors, but it does impact readers who shop Amazon, so I’m putting it here for anyone…

Exactly. And it is still going down. And these are the fellows who keep saying to the users “No targeting forum members” all over. Because only they can do it.
