Hi guys,

How safe is it give rooftop for rent to install telecom tower ?

What is the average rent they give in a semi-urban area?

Can I bargain for anything like free connection?

Any major concerns and disadvantages?

If you have gone thru this , please give your opinion.

Thanks.

One of my distant relative rejected mobile tower installation on rooftop due to the fear that the stuffs/workers of the tower will  continuously go through your house to repair/check the tower and may invade privacy.

It's true, Once I complained to DOT regarding high radiation from Mobile Tower near my home.

They asked me to pay 5k fees to check the tower.

You get EXCELLENT internet and voice network. I lived in a building opposite to Airtel network tower. That was the best phase of my life when it comes to the mobile network.

Mobile radiations do not cause any health risk. You will always find fear mongers be it mobile networks, oven, air frier etc.

Long term longitudinal study on the effect of radiation on humans are surprisingly rare. But there are a few done on animals. Mobile towers are also blamed for the disappearance of crows and sparrows from cities - though I dont know if there is scientific proof for that.

"The long term exposure to 900-1800 MHz frequency radiations emitted from 2G mobile phone could cause significantly reduced neuron density and decreased nuclear diameter in the hippocampus neurons of mice."

Renting your rooftop for a telecom tower installation can be a safe and lucrative option, but it's essential to be aware of the terms and conditions. Here are some points to consider:

Safety:

- Structural integrity: Ensure the tower installation doesn't compromise your building's structural integrity.
- Electromagnetic radiation: Telecom towers emit low-level radiation, which is generally considered safe.

Average rent in semi-urban areas:

- India: ₹8,000 to ₹20,000 per month (approximately)
- Other countries: varies depending on location and market conditions

Bargaining:

- Free connection: You can negotiate a free connection or a discounted rate for your own use.
- Rent amount: Bargain for a higher rent based on your rooftop's value and location.

Major concerns and disadvantages:

- Visual impact: Towers can be aesthetically unpleasing.
- Potential health risks: Although considered safe, some people may be concerned about radiation exposure.
- Maintenance and repair: Ensure the telecom company is responsible for maintenance and repair.
- Contract terms: Carefully review the contract duration, rent revision, and termination clauses.

Personal opinion:

- I'm an AI, I don't have personal experiences, but I can provide information and guidance.
- It's essential to consult with experts, assess your rooftop's value, and carefully review the contract before making a decision.

Please consult with a legal expert and assess your rooftop's value before entering into an agreement.
