Never go to local repair shop, NEVER. I learnt the lesson after having the same experience and decided to order few tools for battery replacement. I usually repair myself if original parts available online otherwise i simply go to authorised centres and never had any regrets. My poco F1 is still working as new, no problem till now even after 6 years and replaced its battery two times myself.

So, the repair guys can tell you any fault and ask money that's kinda shady practice.
So , sorry for the rant.

That's great but I do not have the technical know-how to open the phone and replace the display and fingerprint scanner
These days we can't rely on anyone .
Go for local repair ONLY if you then in person.
Else ALWAYS choose Authorised Service Centre
You should have gone to cashify repair.
In display finger print sensor need calibration after replacement or after low level flashing. It needs a tool for calibration. You can't do it yourself.
But shop keeper should ask 200-300 for that.
I have replaced the screen - as far as i know the finger print sensor is inbuilt in the screen do we need something inside the phone body as well ?
I am also a mobile and laptop technician. I work on motherboards only, reprogramming chips, CPUs, and diagnosing faults. The repair guy should have told you beforehand that the fingerprint sensor would require calibration and incur additional charges. Sadly, not all people are honest about informing customers of the pros and cons. It's similar to how a salesperson only tells you the positive points of a product but not the negative ones.
Hi thanks for your comment I wanna ask you something the shopkeeper told me that he will calibrate the finger print but later he told me the fingerprint scanner on the phone body is not working but the fingerprint input on the screen is working so he added additional 700
Folks from Vietnam where third-party OLED displays are plentily available had mentioned their displays going "dead" after a few months. Probably because the voltages didn't match or something. OLED displays are beautiful but rather more (and quicker) susceptible to go bad and repairs are difficult compared to LCDs.
