I recently took jio fiber connection since it as both TV and internet for just Rs.999 but after using it for 2 days, i understood that jio Tv is worst.
Its not at all user-friendly. Many channels are missing in them…like cartoon channel’s, Discovery channel’s and many regional channels etc etc… all these channels we get in jioTV mobile app but we don’t get those channels in JioTV+(setup box app).
It’s also very difficult to change between existing channels. Eg: If you open any “star Network” related channels you will be redirect to hotstar and then if you want to open any " SUN Network" channel’s you have to come out of hotstar and again open JioTV+ app and again click on that channel and again it will be redirected to SunNXT app. So for majority of channels it will be redirected and majority of channels are missing. So its completely waste.
Talking about picture quality, my existing Tatasky HD channels have better quality then those channels in JioTV setup box.
I’m sharing this here because… don’t get cheated by jio marketing. First verify if all the channel’s what you watch are coming in them or not with any of your friends and then take the connection if your planning to get both setup box and internet. Else you can take just internet which good.
If you have any older persons in home its highly not recommended and if you want really good picture quality even then its not recommend.
Sharing of your options are recommended if u have the connection.

But there internet connection and service is very good in my area the speed is very good
Ya just internet is good…i have also mentioned in review…for that 699+GST is more than enough. Bz we get 100 mbps with 3300 GB

Nice review. Jio Fiber cannot replace your TV.
Here’s what I did and will suggest:
Got the STB + connection, enjoyed the trial month and then downgraded to 399 ₹ pack.
STB works with most channels on JioTV+ app. I have my own subscriptions whatever I need and can use them on the STB. Picture quality is quite good if you can manage with the different apps on STB. Also I found the JioTV+ Video quality is quite good. Unless you have it far and using wifi, you shouldn’t have suffered in quality.
Jio Fiber as a ISP is good and stable. I have used it for past 8 months without any downtime. I had initially thought it will be a backup for my local Alliance Fiber, but after few months I no longer needed my 60 mbps alliance and have stopped using it.
Believe me however low it seems, 30 Mbps is good enough for streaming on 2-3 HD TV + few mobile devices as well. No quality drop or buffering, everything plays in Full HD.
And yes I too have Tata Sky HD+. But mostly use streaming platforms on a ATV 4k or FireTV 4k sticks.

And my wifi is close to STB itself but comparing with normal Tatasky HD channels i feel its not upto the mark or maybe i have to change some settings in my TV….as i observed…in Jio STB…there is no much difference between HD and SD channels…i feel soo
I am delighted ….. My trial got over so i went ahead with 1499+GST plan …. it’s a cost saver …
Amazon Prime …. no need to pay 129 monthly
Netflix i used to pay 799 but now only 300 (as jio plan comes with a base plan of 499)
I am not going to discuss about other OTTs …. only 3-4 ott u can only watch on JioTV rest all u can watch on other devices ….
so straight away it saved me 129+300 (rather more if i count other OTTs)

Nice calculations. I just hope you really need that 300mbps internet speed.
Also you have now degraded your Netflix plan from 4K to SD, whose speed recommendation is just 3mbps by Netflix itself. Refer. Rather It might have been better if you got your old plan back and have interested friends to share screens with.
Also few salient points which might interest others:
- Hotstar is only VIP (34₹ per month). So no premium movies or shows.
- Prime actually costs 84 ₹ as we take yearly plan.
Rather than going through all these headache, take Jio Fiber for speed you actually need regularly and get the OTTs you need with good offers separately. Unless you torrent 24/7, not sure then what’s the purpose of getting free OTT plans! Also Jio is more restrictive on torrent websites than other ISPs.
However the best thing about Jio is if anybody feels like me, then he can switch to lower plans on any month, no commitment.
