So in the west, even after one's death.. one's words too can be monetised or legally be treated as intellectual property.
They may not be as big a scam as जय🌽cob, but even QuestNet claimed to have paid the Vatican to use the imagery or artwork of the Pope in its so called Gold coins or watches.
Divided States and sites like Amazon there have no qualms in underwear, footwear with images of desi deities on them.. being sold within Divided States.
For them it is business, irrespective of which God is printed on the footwear, brassiere, knickers.
Did जय🌽corncob have any tie-up with the trust or the management of the temple complex?
Did जय🌽corncob give any licensing fees or in any other way remunerate any relevant body, trust managing the complex?
Does India even care about such monuments, structures, iconography being protected from unbridled commercial exploitation by unrelated private entities?
Will you be okay if Victoria's Secret, Durex, Sketchers too do a जय🌽corncob?

Nuclear weapons. Countries have them and hope that they are never required.
But still make a pomp and show about it and let others know that hey look! what do I have here.
Likewse, people get a trophy wife, trophy husband.. or a trophy watch.. for that matter.
And I just find it ridiculous that some people can spend so much money over a watch or any pompous display of wealth for that matter. But hey to each their own!
Had DimeAnotherDay not already appended 'to each their own', I was about to add a similar point/reply.
I mean long back, we had gone to some place where the "to be" groom's family had arranged for the first meet-up for the prospective bride's side.. ... to meet each other and the damn place charged 300-400 rupees per person for the food (somewhere around 2006-2008, unless I am mistaken).
Both sides had 7-8 / 7-8 people! (And later..the girl even declined/rejected the proposal.)
And we remember how some elderly person in our extended family had gently hinted.. that there are other places too.. to meet up.
(Meaning paying 350₹ average.. multipled by 16 people.. that too just for initial meeting. And yes, now while typing this i recollected.. that it was scamcon ISKCON. Just another Rotary club type place for big business people to socialise.)
She (elderly person) had later added that there are people around who do not even get one basic meal a day. (What she meant is that, we are not even blinking while doing all this taam-jhaam/ pomp an show.. whereas right here in our own surroundings.. there are people who are thankful even if they can snatch a morsel from the neighbourhood dogs whom people feed.)
We ALL actually come from the privileged class!
VERY privileged in-fact. Have known of people for whom it was not possible to leave their place of work to tend to their dying parent (who eventually passed away the same day).
Thankfully none of us are in SUCH dire straits.
This exactly is the point. We easily point to those who could afford more than us but forget that there are more who could not afford 1% of what we could!!
