Hi, I am having amazon shopping edition that's 399 per year, Have used the same for about 5 months but now I want to switch to full fledged prime that's 1499 per year, while there is option for me to change membership on app but need to know what happens to my current plan . Will i lose the current plan or will i get refund as per remaining number of days in my plan.

I tried contacting amazon cc but chat executive says I will get refund whereas the call executive says no refund will be processed.

Pls let me know if someone knows.

Please note, when you upgrade from Prime Shopping Edition to a full Prime membership, refund eligibility will be based on past benefit usage and remaining duration in the plan. You can then choose to upgrade to Prime at INR 1499/year or Prime Lite at INR 799/ year.

Why is this so confusing? Your current plan will be upgraded to the new full fledged plan with the same number of days remaining. And why will they refund you? You have to pay the difference on pro rata basis

The very first response visible up to (from guest_999) has the details.

What more is needed?

To us, average customer.. Amazon will not reveal the matrices.

But in the past, there HAVE been cases when even 85-90 days into the Prime membership, one had not used ANY of the services. No videos, no music, no orders (talking of pre-Covid-19) and despite months having passed.. their system refunded the whole amount upon surrendering.

But mostly they give pro-rata refund based on the elapsed time.. in case of one having placed orders.
So yes, if it is this basic subscription of merchandise purchase only, then if a customer has used the same by placing occasional orders for 6 months out of the 12 months paid for.. the refund can be expected for six months pro-rata costs.
