This is what jio wants from us smart move by jio
You’re right, they played it very smart. TRAI is just thinking about extending IUC & Jio triggered users with 6 paisa, so that TRAI don’t go ahead for extending IUC. Jio didn’t do anything they made its users do it.
It has been signed by more than 51,000 people.
If outgoing iuc charges are born by jio users, then jio should share the income of iuc charges from other operator
All operators are paying IUC.
News18: Vodafone Idea Says Their Customers Don’t Have to Bother About IUC With Unlimited Calls.

petition is exactly what jio wants.
more incoming calls is also what jio wants.
mass port out requests is exactly what jio does not want.
decide what you want.
PS – both VoId and Airtel has clarified that they will not charge IUC from users.
Don’t know about Airtel but Voda & Idea were not giving truly unlimited calling about 10-11 months ago. So at least they don’t need to act like “Danveer”.
Anyways TRAI itself has released a statement which says this IUC won’t be applicable from 1/1/2020 so i guess it’s hardly a matter of few months…
nothing will happen with these petitions
See this pdf consultation paper for iuc revision https://main.trai.gov.in/sites/default/files/CP...

Major offnet outgoing on jio.
Later in pdf trai asked for comments for extending the jan1(though it is mentioned revision, obviously it is extend) date. It is because of this Jio charging IUC directly from customers.
Exactly that’s why, Jio don’t want IUC anymore after 1.1.20 , they took this decision so that users themselves speak up & things go the way jio wants.
real winner is AVOID in this , they opposed scrapping of iuc.
Airtel is completely targeting Jio 😜 They won’t leave this opportunity: https://twitter.com/airtelindia/status/11823224...
Btw does Airtel offer anything like JioTV, as good as jiotv?
