Hi Dimers,
Recently i got selected as a team lead position for a well established pharmaceutical brand based in India (karantaka). But they said the salary will be from 3rd party consultancy due to some regulation in the pharmaceutical/nutraceutical industry they cannot onboard directly.
After a year they said will onboard as permanent employee. Is there any such reason why they are doing it this way?

Yes this is practice followed by many companies, they tied up with some man power companies for the payroll.
Remember - while staying at offrole (or on a payroll of consultancy) u will get perks of consultancy not of ur own company .
Usually, notice period is less, and pess deduction and less perks are there.
Make sure to take it on email that after an year they will make u onrole.
Good luck and congratulations on ur new role.
TAX, THEY ARE SAVING TAX AND 1 YEAR IS YOUR PROBATIONARY PERIOD.
Many companies do this, they just want to be sure of employee before they directly hire in company
so 1 year is like your testing period, if you perform as per expectations they absorb you
Never go into any company as third party payroll. Don't get excited by the pay they assure. The chances of you becoming permanent there is extremely less. Also both your employer and your contractor will not consider you as a human. Even though salary is less go with direct payroll.
Nope. Due to many reasons lots of companies do go with the 3rd Party payroll. Many times benefits and perks are higher there.
If one is talented enough, there is no harm going through the 3rd Party.
Hold on pharmaceutical company, team lead . Is it marketing or inhouse production? Chemist , sr. Chemist kind of stuff? In quality assurance? In house production jobs, you already know risky and need to pay huge compensation plus other settlements , in unfirtunate circumstances, if you are full-time. Reason for third party is this?
If marketing, then doing and asking you convince what it does not do and rub it off and if something gies wrong?
Hahaha....TRAP to get you out of your present company (however, if you are talented, use this as launch pad to grow).
Third party payroll from your side:
1)You will get 1 month compensation or notice period when your end client terminate the contract with your payroll company.
2)You will be treated as second grade guy by the end client permanent employees during the meetings.
3)You must be always looking out for other jobs as long as you are in third party payroll as there is no concept of PERMANENT.
4)You will not get the bonus or other extra perks (on par with the end client).
5)Take this offer and look for change in next one year. Your salary gets doubled with in a year if you are talented person.
This is the trend in software industry.
Third party payroll from end client side:
1)They claim your salary as contract/one time expenses.
2)There is a limit of number of permanent employees per one share. If it is more, share holders will put pressure on management to reduce it. Share holders just need how much money is being earned by each permanent employee.
3)Some of the payroll companies belong to the end client management. They swindle money via payroll company.
Many companies do work this way. For various reasons.
If you are talented enough, then don't bother. It doesn't matter much. There is no harm going with the 3rd Party Payroll.
