Patanjali launches Ongo RuPay co-branded prepaid card:

Besides shopping, dining, fuelling and e-commerce, the prepaid card comes with NCMC feature which will allow holders to use transit services such as NCMC enabled metro, buses, toll and parking across the country.

Baba Ramdev-led Patanjali Ayurved has launched an open-loop co-branded prepaid card in partnership with AGS Transact Technologies’ digital payments brand Ongo.

An open loop card is a general-purpose charge card that can be used anywhere where that brand of card is accepted.

“We are delighted to provide an elevated shopping experience to our esteemed clientele by introducing the open-loop cobranded cards in collaboration with Ongo. With Patanjali-Ongo cards, our valued customers will gain access to exclusive benefits spanning a diverse range of Patanjali's products and services across Patanjali stores," said Acharya Balkrishna, co-founder and MD of Patanjali Ayurved.

"Additionally, with these cards they can now experience an unparalleled convenience at all RuPay acceptance points across the country," he added.

The co-branded card, build in partnership with RuPay, can be used for shopping, dining, fuelling and ecommerce, and come with rewards. The prepaid cards can be accepted on any device on Rupay network pan India, the company said in a statement.

Further, this card comes with NCMC feature which will allow them to use transit services such as NCMC-enabled Metro, buses, toll and parking across the country.

The enrolment for this can be done by customers via registration on the Ongo app or by visiting the nearest Patanjali stores.

“Through this partnership, we aim to provide unparalleled convenience to Patanjali's extensive customer base, ensuring every transaction is enriched with seamless efficiency and ease," said Ravi B Goyal, Chairman and MD, AGS Transact Technologies.

Mumbai-based AGS Transact Technologies, which holds a prepaid payments instrument (PPI) license, works as omni-channel payment solutions providers and provides cash-based solutions to banks and corporate clients. It claims to have deployed 2,48,126 payment terminals, predominantly at petroleum retail outlets.
