number retention is a thing of the past now
friends last year i made a thread wherein jio stopped anyone from doing top recharges until and unless there is a valid plan. i said that they will apply this slowly circle by circle but many members criticized me and now it is valid all over the country. now jio does not give a f about number retention scheme. it is a scheme by dot/trai where in if a number is not used for incoming/outgoing calls/sms/internet/etc. service provider will deduct rs. 20 from top up balance after every 90 days. u can ask for official pdf from @guest_999 paji now what jio is doing from january of this year is that they are not following 90 days at all. they can deduct these charges after 30 days or 60 days or maybe after 90 days and once they deduct they wont stop to deduct every month until a recharge is done. also jio considers only outgoing calls/sms now not incoming which they should consider like earlier. @LIMBO can confirm that previously they used to even deduct once maybe in a year or two. but now they have become very aggressive. this might not be applicable in your circle as of now but very soon it will be. soon jio will give a user 30 days to recharge after a plan is over and then will directly stop that number. how soon? cant say.
- jio shops are telling everyone to get a cheap jiophone and insert sim in that, this way plans pertaining to jiophone will be applicable to the sim which are cheaper and on which jio is not this aggressive. any ideas about that? are these jiophones dual sim?
-since we all one have one or two jio numbers so which is the best way to keep them active economically? porting? if yes then port to which company and what plan? suppose my jio number is in my cousins name and he is out of country then how till porting be done?

ps- is there any keypad dual 4g phone using which the normal jio sim comes under the jiophone/jiophone prima category? the recharges for these are rs. 91 for 28 days and rs. 75 for 23 days. jio store is selling many phones but their idiot employees are not sure in which phone the normal sim will get converted to jiophone/jiophone prima. + @noobDealer

SOS from this JIO MAFIA
get out quick xD
VU+ to see many more activity and lets see how many are gonna bash jio on this xD
Don't know much about procedure of keeping sim active as I don't use jio.
Porting can be done and when you port sim your id documents can be used. Only porting code is required for porting as far as i know.
porting can be done on anyone's name, porting to bsnl is most economical as just recharging 91+10 every 2 month is enough to receive otp incoming and use outgoing also, but bsnl has huge network issue, even 2g coverage is not available everywhere so only port if u know ur area has very good coverage (just good coverage doesn't cut it ur otps gonna expire)
Also jio is the only company that spam like a hell once the recharge is expired asking to recharge and threating with number closure.
I receive these spam calls in my active number (with a plan) too... maa-behan ki gaaliyan dene ka mn krta but caller mostly ladies hoti hain to control kr leta kisi trah.
These incoming/outgoing expiry things are the severe side effects of the cheap internet data that reliance introduced into the telecom sector.
I miss those old golden days of pre-2016..
Broadband connection is enough to meet my internet requirements anyways.
Soon jio will eat vi.
Then there will be only 2 players airtel and jio.
Both will exploit consumers.
JioBharat B1, B2, K1 Karbonn, V2

Phones are also available on JioMart.
from what i have checked, both online and offilne, the latest phones by jio are not letting one do recharge of jiophone only jiobharat. some say that a new jiobharat only sim is required for it. lots of confusion but idiots at jio dont know anything or arent willing to tell anything. moreover suppose you have two sims of jio, then do you need two jiobharat phones or put one sim in jiobharat phone>>recharge with the cheapest plan if it allows and then repeat with 2nd sim? also are topups allowed in jiobharat phones/plans/sims? and is number retention service available on these jiobharat phones/plans/sims? + @guest_999 @LIMBO
I have sent a port message recently in jio. There were numerous calls from jio but I didn't picked up any then they credited 5 days of 5g plan 🤣
any idea about jiobharat phones?
Bsnl rocks.
Jio has good perks of not disconnecting incoming calls but big blow is no outgoing.
Bsnl rules here, no number disconnect fear, mere 30-60rs every month and UPI on 2 numbers 🎉
what recharge plan do you use?
Anyone tried 91 plan in Kolkata circle, is it working for 60 days validity?
