It sounds like there's a new scam involving Zepto delivery agents where they claim they can't change the status of your order to "Mark as Arrived" due to a network issue. They then pressure you to cancel the order and suggest that you can take the products and pay them directly.
To stay safe:
1. Don't cancel the order: Insist on waiting until the status is updated on the app. If the agent continues to push, contact Zepto's customer support immediately.
2. Verify with the company: Always confirm any issues directly with Zepto through the app or their official customer support channels.
3. Report the incident: If you encounter this situation, report the delivery agent to Zepto so they can investigate and take action.
Scams like these exploit trust so it's crucial to remain vigilant.

tell delivery guy not to do such thing or else we will complain(not actual action just for his fear ), i know support are very harsh on delivery person they might lose there job with penalty
But how this will benefit delivery agent?
would be nice to know this
VU+ for awareness of this post
If cancelled they need to return the items back to inventory right?
What is the catch here
Reference to Zepto’s Cancellation Policy:
7.2 Cancellations: You may cancel an order without charge at any time before the Company accepts the order. You cannot cancel the order post acceptance of order by the Company
Output:
- It clearly means that your Money won’t be refunded incase of cancellation on arrival.
- Agent will get the Money paid by you.
- by then, you would have paid twice + overall harassment of following up with customer care will be even more costlier.
- items taken explicitly from the agent cannot be exchanged incase of expiry or stale stuff
Might be some kind of loophole to earn a few rupees.
I placed a prepaid order worth ₹4000 on Zepto, and within 10 minutes, it showed as delivered, but I didn’t receive it. Customer care only connected me with the delivery boy. I asked him to come to my address and explain who he gave the order to. He agreed and asked me to send my location. I got his number, but after that, he blocked me. I called him from another number and told him I was filing a police complaint. Then he said, “Brother, I found your order, I’m bringing it to you.” This is how delivery boys are committing fraud.
