Hello guys,
I am thinking of buying Asus Laptop, specifically i3 12th Gen - OLED variant which is just launched and it's retailing at around 55k. With offers I can get it at around 53k.
If you guys can suggest an alternative to the above choice, please let me know
My usage:
- Casual web surfing
- MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) with not so heavy data sets
- Share Market Trading
- Casual video editing (no after effects and all)
- Media consumption (YouTube, Amazon Prime, Hotstar, etc.)
Additional Requirements:
- OLED because other screens look very dull
- Fingerprint scanner
- Availability of ADP/Extended Warranty (I think ASUS offers only 1 year ADP, please throw some light if it is available for 3 years)
- Decent Build Quality
- On Site support
Please suggest an alternative or if should I go with the chosen one.
Budget was 50k but this overshoots by 10% and manageable.
Thanks.

Processor is more than enough for the mentioned usage. You can get 2 years extended warranty for 999(so total 3 years warranty) & 1 year ADP for 499. Build quality is decent. On site support I guess depends on your location but should be fine in any metro/tier-1 city. Don't forget to activate all options in MyAsus app for oled care to avoid/delay burn-in as long as possible. Pixel refresh is checked by default but still confirm & also enable auto-hide taskbar.
Thanks for Auto-Hide suggestion for Taskbar. That's most of the time static, I realised.
Also, is there any other alternative for it?
Planning to use it for 5-6 years minimum. May upgrade RAM to 16GB in future.
Currently using Dual Core 3rd Gen Desktop, for these tasks but it's lagging nowadays given the 10 year old processor despite having SSD as primary storage.
you can buy 3 year ADP from MyAsus app ( there is some 10% off discount code also )
I love this model but now I am scared after hearing the BURN IN Issue and also I guess I am liking the IPS Glossy Screen Since I am disappointed with My current Laptop Display which is a TFT Screen and also Brightness is just 150 Nits Max....
How is ASUS service?
At service centre or on-site?
How about HDD retention as I would be having client's financial data which I don't want to leak
If worried about data then only option is to use virtual disk/partition encryption using a separate software like Veracrypt as service centre will require you to give them windows password for any service/upgrade task.
