Hi

I need recommendations for a good reliable USB-C HDD for storage (4-5GB) to be used with MB Air, mainly for storing travel pics & videos, etc.

SSDs are still much costlier, more than double the cost of good HDD.

I checked these two

1. Western Digital WD 5TB My Passport Ultra Portable - 13K

2. Seagate Ultra Touch HDD 5TB External Hard Drive - 14.5K
https://www.amazon.in/dp/B0BN4DXRC6/?coliid=I1A...

Please recommend from these or any other better options.

Thank you!

Keep in mind that 5TB portable hdd runs hotter than 4TB portable hdd so if you don't really need that extra 1TB I would suggest a 4TB portable hdd. Also, no hdd or ssd is failure proof so always keep backup of important data in at least two different drives. You can also look into getting MS office 365 family 1 year subscription in sharing with friends & relatives as it comes with 6 accounts each having 1TB onedrive cloud storage (so total 6TB storage per year) & currently you can get it for around 3600 with 1500 cashback coupon on amazon available to every user.

Ok, thanks a lot!

Will buy 4TB in that case.
Need physical storage, not cloud.

For 4TB HDD, which one do you recommend - WD, Seagate or another?

Here's a suggestion, instead of those 2.5 HDDs get something with enterprise grade for example wd my book and SanDisk gdrive although might or might not be costly(depends on seller) it will be worth especially with write speed., only drawback is that they need extra power from dc port.
