HI all,

IM planning on preclosing my personal loan

ROI is 14% and preclosure charges are zero

Will there be any impact on my credit score if i pre-close it?

My father had xpress personal loan in SBI, two times I added 50k, 100k directly via account transfer, it reduced the amount remaining, nothing changed in emi or number of remaining emi.

At one point last emi (5k+) was way less of than usual EMI so I was confused as how it will end.

I talked to branch manager and he wasn't sure either.

I asked if I preclosed it, he told me precloser is 10500+ rolleyes (remaining loan amount was 5k+)

I said just leave it . And finally emi nach was executed and it was only the full remaining ammount and I also received noc and loan closure information from SBI.

Talk to someone knowledgeable in SBI and if no charges then close it. But last I remember there were 3% of remaining loan amount as preclosure charges.

Careful with any pre-closing the loan.
The bank officers (yeah... they are mostly MBA guys with 25k/pm salaried class) do not know the difference between pre-closure or closed with settlement.
Some times, they simply close the loan as "closed with settlement" even though it is pre-closed with full payment.

It is always better to not to pre-close the loan, let the system close it when all EMIs are paid (unless you are trained to go to that level of MBA graduates and resolve it without effecting your cibil score)
