Thinking about oneplus nord ce4.
I have been following the mobile phone industry since the early days of 2008. So well over 17 years at this point. My initial interest in the mobile phone world was greatly influenced by Mobiles & More (Zee Business) and Cell Guru (Rajiv Makhni/ NDTV)
Also, some notable blogs such as AndroidOs.in , fonearena , AndroidPolice, Xda Developers, 9to5Google, 9to5Mac, Sammobile, The Verge have greatly helped me improve my knowledge and understanding of the smartphone tech and world in general.
There were other shows along the line that also influenced and fast forward to today's world where YouTube has revolutised smartphone review industry.
The purpose of this thread is to help fellow dimers in which they post their queries regarding any upcoming smartphone purchase and I will give recommendations. This is just a way I want to give back to community
.
Please include following details for better recommendations:
Budget
Brand Preference
Camera/ Battery/ Performance, if any specific requirement do mention
Service Centre
I hope those who are looking for smartphone recommendations will find this thread useful and worthy. Cheers.
Also, this thread can be used to ask for second opinion if the said smartphone is good value for the price.
I will answer your queries every Tuesday and Friday.
CMF Phone (1) should be a no-brainer. There are few cons like no stereo speaker, no charger in box, decent camera for the price. Otherwise, solid overall experience with a very stable Nothing OS 3.0 [ref]
It is a camera centric phone with good overall performance and good battery life. Haven't seen any app crashing on it. Only con I can say is they don't give a charger with tbe phone. People who need a good camera phone can certainly go for it at 19999 + card discounts. By @santosh_blr
note: deal Captains' and above are requested to uplift comments to wiki for such reviews

Can u suggest any 5g phone minimum 6gb ram and Android version 9/10 preferable. Don't want beyond Android 12 because of restrictions
Budget and brand preference?
Not sure if it fits here, but my wife wants an iPhone. Which one is the best value for money? The only requirement is that memory needs to be good. Usage will just be WhatsApp, instagram and phone calls mostly.
It will be more useful if Give Options as per budget

I don't know if you guys feel the same, but this guy Rajiv Makhni, whenever I come across his videos, why does his voice and video always feel so ingenuine? It’s like ekdam makhan laga ke, masala daal ke, aur sugar coating karke bata ta rehta hai har ek product ke baare mein. More so because I think almost all of his videos are sponsored, I guess? I don't like him at all; he feels like a cheater. Maybe I’m judging too much. Anyone else feel the same?
Nowadays devices are not at all user friendly.
My 3 years old REALME X7 MAX 5G has much better specification than many 20k rs devices.
Phones will get a lot better this year.
I used to love Cell Guru and Gadget Guru with Rajiv Makhni. He was one of the pioneers of tech shows on TV and seemed to know a good deal about the tech - unlike a lot of youtubers these days who are just dummies of the industry reading a script. I dont know if any of the crappy TV channels even have a tech show these days
NDTV has one with Technical Guruji. How the mighty have fallen! Really really sad.
@kshmr I recently bought the Nothing phone (2a) Plus (12+256) + 65W GaN charger for about 24k (all discounts included), what's your view on this?
* I did my first tap-n-pay nfc payment at medplus pos yesterday, was a real good experience that I wanted to have since years... (got 200 cb on gpay)
I am a big fan of Nothing Phones and their entire software experience. While they may not be the most powerful ones for the price, the overall experience combined with their ui optimization is top notch. It's a good deal, combined with the charger which is an additional cost. I am sure the latest Nothing OS 3.0 update must have only made the experience even better. It's a solid phone. It should serve you really well for the next 3-4 years if you don't tend to get carried away by new phones. Provides a stable os and ui experience, good battery, decent cameras and while not the most compact phone, still good weight distribution and ergonomics.
@kshmr which Lava mobile is best in 10k to 20k range.
and if consider privacy, can we rely on Nothing(though it is a British company but the founder Carl Pei is Chinese)?
Also from After sales point of view which is better among these two or if you have any other suggestion.
Thanks
Nothing is better. No Chinese angle. It's a company based in London, and Carl Pei himself is Chinese Swedish entrepreneur.
Nothing Phone (2a), has Better Ui and lag free exp
Lava - Lava Agni 3 link - https://www.desidime.com/deals/lava-agni-3-5g-h...
or else Poco X7, comes with fast charger in box, IP 68, 69 certified, more durable, faster charging than Nothing. Only con Hyper OS
Another alternative - Oneplus Nord CE 4 overall very well balanced phone with Snapdragon SoC.
Avoid OnePlus budget phones, pathetic software updates, costly parts and service, outdated designs, chinese like software experience.
Better go for nothing or samsung budget phones.
I can't suggest a specific mobile in specific price range but as someone who has had about 35 phones from 2003 when I first bought mine, and entirely all flagship/top of the line ones, that it's an absolute terrible waste of money. If you are buying Android especially, just get a 15/20k one and be done with it. The so called premium android is the biggest oxymoron there is. If you want to invest much just get a 2 or 3 year old iphone. Like it or not, those are the only ones worth investing in.
Can u suggest any 5g phone preferably 6gb ram and good camera. Budget is 10 to 15k. Company preference is mi or realme or any suggestions from your side. If any discount is going on in sale, please also mention that.
