Probably a device specific issue. I haven't experienced the same in 2 devices. In fact VoWifi in all 3 operators has been an excellent experience barring a short period where it was problematic in case of Vi.

Costly + poor network as compared to bsnl.
Yes Jio has a serious problem.Many many times your jio number showing as switched off to the callers where its actually not switched off.Same goes for the incoming sms too.This is happening most of the times in a day from last 3-4 years.Complained many times but they are very indifferent.So better to Port now.
I have only faced this issue in (several years old ) devices which don't support dual VoLTE AFTER mobile data is assigned to a non-Jio SIM. This obviously causes the Jio SIM to go offline. However even after mobile data is set to the Jio SIM and it comes back online IC SMS in particular doesn't work unless the device is rebooted. Otherwise this issue doesn't occur. No such issue in dual VoLTE devices.
