Milk delivery - Cat spoils milk

We live in an independent house, main gate is closed at night with lock.
We latch a bag(thick plastic, thick cloth ones) on door to get milk from country delight guy(delivers around 4.30am here).  Similar to

We wake at 6am to find that cat has punctured holes and drank milk that dripped out of the box.

Country delight has no option for delivery time adjustment(they should offer one in evening).

Please suggest some solution. If any highly puncture proof bag is available (maybe metal plates inside box), please suggest. TIA

Yeah sometimes in the bag if 3 milk packets were delivered, cat left one for us 😌

There was a cat in our area which figured out how to open fridge. We used to find fridge door opened sometimes but everyone denied even touching the fridge. We still thought someone accidentally left it open but one day i saw  the cat doing that. The cat must have been successful in stealing milk in someone house in this manner so started doing that. We started using fridge lock after that. They are smart.

Get repellent aka Dog 🐕. Also if you want to subdue the cats you use little bit of catnip in a perforated steel conatner hanging NOT near the place where milk is delivered.

Catnip is like cat psychedelic drugs naturally occurring plant leaves.

Thanks.

Getting dog, will be 'big brain' solution to this problem. One day I do want a dog but not the responsibilities.

Catnip - Yes I have watched YT/Insta shorts, reactions are funny. Don't want to give that guy enjoyment though.

can keep two bags and clearly label/mark them as 'not for you 🐈‍⬛billi🐈' and
'this one's for you 🐈‍⬛billi🐈'

Hopefully the cat will follow the instructions and you can add some leftover or extra milk in the sachet or bag meant for 🐈‍⬛cat🐈.

Else for a few mornings.. wake up at 0300 and keep milk that is super saturated with salt.
Poor thing might stop having or even trying after three four days.
Obviously till then.. the milk delivery from the vendor has to stop or be managed in some other way.

Okay seriously now.. for this you are so puzzled and unable to get any ideas?

Can easily have a mailbox style area/container made of plywood or some had material with only a trap door type opening at the top for the milk bags to be dropped.
The trap door is designed like the valves in heart chambers.
Can swing open only in one direction and are spring loaded to close immediately after item is dropped.

A separate door for you all to access via lock and key (those small latch locks https://amazon.in/dp/B083GL3V5S)
for you to remove the bags from the side door.

Another option too.. but this too would cost something extra.

Some foul smelling material or spray or maybe even simple water can be sprayed on the animals who are just trying to feed themselves.

Motion detection device can be rigged with the spray device.
But these might require their own power supply or battery back up

and this time.. the humans delivering will need to read some instructions or be aware of how to safely keep the packets without triggering the spray.

a small pulley bucket or something can drop some.. (E)-2-butene-1-thiol.. thiol type liquid on a target if some strings or attached mechanisms get triggered.

P.S.: nothing in my post tantamounts to cruelty.. nor is intended to be cruel.
Maybe tigers and some other big cats are cool with water.. but a large majority of small cats are not too happy getting in water. And thiol is not dangerous to other animals. Thiol is also naturally found i plants, animals.

Thanks, I like how you produced creative solutions, keep doing it never loose the zeal. I was like this at point, as I grow old, I just want readymade solution(like directly buy something from AZ).

Have you thought of installing motion sensor light/bulb if the place of hanging is not well lit?

Thanks, area is well lit. Don't think cats here will be scared with change of lighting suddenly. They don't even run away fast if they see you(there is one lady in area which feeds them due to which it seems they aren't fearful of humans).

Keep a big steel/metal dabba instead of this bag.

Nice, was looking for something like this only, one guy in comment also mentioned to build something like this. Will check if it can work with vertical iron rods that run along our iron gate. Will also see if I can find in local market. Thanks

Keep some milk rice near the place, it should not touch when its not hungry.

Pls do this after all its searching for food. But after few days it will call you from window/door etc for food.

Get a iron sheet box welded or bolted to gate (similar to letter box with big opening or lid)
