depends on your requirements like which retailers give card network-specific offers/offers by the issuing bank/features like Roadside dispatch, Lost or stolen card reporting, Travel and emergency assistance services, just kidding 😃 -- this was the case some 20 years ago but now both the payment networks have come a long way and are accepted in more than 200 countries, VISA has more presence in Europe/Asia I believe but if you are specific to India then not much difference and question like MC/Visa vs AMEX or Diners or Rupay or Discover would fetch more points on differences.
visa gives free stuff sometimes and mastercard iks cheapskate ,real irl difference go with visa
@abhishek012 Be like :- Rupay ki baat Start toh Entry maru mai is thread pe.
Visa gives offers on tap n pay, timesprime voucher etc. Once upon a time MC had better lounge offers than visa , now this is not so. Also , MC DC levy charges for CC payments on mobikwik.
RuPay card is Best.
2nd Choice - Visa card (most super premium cards are currently on Visa card + if you frequently use International transaction then apply Visa card. However, many people have multiple cards too, so if you already have few visa card or zero forex visa cards then apply RuPay cards too).
Mastercard - useless, Now snapay also charge extra for mastercard CC payment, Mobikwik charge extra for mastercard DC payment on CC bill. Sometimes otp page is not open on SBI unipay, Canara setu website cc bill payment.
@baludesi now a days, private banks offer their own lounge access. So card network based lounge access are useless. Very few banks offer card network based lounge access but guess what ? RuPay card now offer largest lounge access in India. Dnt check on RuPay website, RuPay now tieup with priority pass India. Check on priority pass website. However, only Super Premium RuPay cards offer super premium lounge access in India. Anyway, most people use private banks debit/credit cards, so now lounge access are same for all card networks.
Moral of the story - PSU banks and private banks premium cards - apply RuPay cards and Super premium cards from private banks like SBI Cashback, HDFC millennia, Infinia etc and if you frequently use International transaction - apply Visa card (Short story apply multiple RuPay Cards and Visa cards).
