You can marry in haste, but divorce can’t be rushed! A city-based couple learned it the hard way after the Gujarat High Court refused to exercise its extraordinary powers to grant them a divorce by waiving off the mandatory six months cooling period. The couple had been married for just 12 days before parting ways. The two now plan to approach the Supreme Court

GUDA GUDI khela nai hai SHAADI……….
I don’t know the rules but instead of divorce, can’t marriage be annulled?
for nullity, they have to satisfy any one of the reasons mentioned specifically there in the act.
Shaadi ke laddoo, jo khaaye pachtaye aur jo na khaaye woh bhi pachtaye!!!

the couple can do one thing, they can refile the petition after completing the 1 year mandatory separate stay period.
mandatory six months cooling period as per law 😂
Why should the court interfere if both the parties are agreed on the same matter? We’re already having backlogs of 1 year in criminal cases, and spending time over such cases shows our system’s dumbness. Nowadays everything is getting faster, what’s wrong if the couple made some decision in a hurry and want to move out without any obligation?
