I have an automatic OTTplay subscription for ₹999, which I’ve been trying to cancel. This payment is set up through Paytm, using my secondary number that I recharge every three months.
This morning, I received a renewal notification. When I logged into Paytm to cancel the payment, it required SIM verification through SMS. I wasn’t aware of this verification requirement initially, so I attempted to cancel the payment multiple times, only to be prompted each time for SIM verification. Then I tried pausing the payment and even removing the account, but every option led to the same SIM verification request.
Since my SIM wasn’t recharged, I went ahead and topped up ₹189. Now, after recharging, Paytm is telling me I’ve attempted verification too many times and have to wait until tomorrow to try again.
This has been a frustrating experience. Why is Paytm making such a simple process so difficult?

Apka to sim issue h, mera to pata nh kya issue h, 3 mahine se complaint open chal rhi h, kitni bar explain kr chuka hu, tata play binge ka ott auto mandate hat hi nh rha h, jbki subscription ek saal phle hi cancel kr dia tha, bs pese nh kat rhe h but auto mandate abi bhi lga hua h ,uski wjhse me apna bank account bhi Paytm se nh hata pa rha hu...
For security reasons, now a days we have to recharge all extra sim cards too. Or switch everything to primary sim card
maintaining exra sim / numbers / mobiles / apps is very tough now a days .

30% of all calls recieved are spam / scams or related .
digital life getting tougher and tougher .
Maintaining multiple is not big problem
Once i used to have 7 sims
Before last price hike I used to maintain 3 sims now it is after last price hike it is very difficult to maintain
If they ask for monthly recharge for 100 no issue for me
why not cancel it on ott play website?
