Those cheap batteries don't last long enough. Better buy alkaline ones which work for some time.

OK, any deals for alkaline ones?

Within India, since decades (we) have been using the ones made by Lakhanpal National Limited (it used to be a joint venture between the Lakhanpal Group and the Matsushita Electric Industrial Company).
https://www.panasonicenergyindia.in/history.php
Unfortunately, after the reverse merger with Panasonic
Matsushita Electric Industrial Company killed the 'National' brand.😞
Now worldover, they market everything under the Panasonic brand. (Everything that was previously sold under the 'National' brand.)
I think Matsushita Lakhanpal Battery India Limited (which was formed in much recent times) still imports from Panasonic facilities too.
But otherwise, our experience with the use and throw type, lower priced pencil cells.. has been fairly good with these locally made batteries.
Both Nippo and Panasonic have multiple variants, options under the same umbrella brand.
But if I am purchasing/ using non-rechargeable ones, I prefer to override my money-saving instinct and usually take the ones which claim to have lesser ecological impact (lesser negative impact on the environment).
The (completely) manufactured in India batteries from Panasonic (formerly National/ Lakhanpal Group).. DO give such options.
During Covid-19 years while buying a strip of such cells offline.. I remember those costing about 10 rupees or so per piece.
MANY and I mean many other brands and many sellers online would easily provide basic use and throw type pencil cells, under deals and offers.. for the price point you require.
Most, if not all, of them (including products from Eveready, Syska) would directly empower China in doing what China does.
The ones which are manufactured ground-up (from the scratch) within India.. lets most of the value addition remain in the country.
Jobs are created, vendors are created, supplies to Panasonic India are given by local companies.
Our economy gets to retain most of the benefits. Yes, maybe Panasonic 🇯🇵Nihan🇯🇵 makes its subsidiaries repatriate some of the profits to the parent
but obviously they are also re-investing the funds locally too.
I not judging though.
one can choose Pakistan made, Bangladesh made, China made products too.. if they suit the purpose.
As it is, who are we saving for?
Those who stand in front of camera to sell make-up, zzuuppee ludo, crypto scams.. or gyrate to 'kaacha badam'
when they get time to do so after standing in the line outside apple shops.. for the whole night prior to the launch day of yet another piece of junk.
Thusly, I am not doing any wonders by supporting the future of such creatures.
