US Consumer Product Safety Commission said that Amazon be held responsible for defective goods & services sold by third-party merchants.
The landmark order rejects the company’s stance that it is solely an intermediary
vs
Rather the firm “fits squarely” in the definition of a distributor of goods & services, “and therefore bears legal responsibility for their recall”.
Hopefully Gorment of india steps up to protect the interests of public as a lot of apps like flipkart, zomato, bookmyshow etc have been scewing people left & right as well as talking sheet & avoiding responsibility

this pahcurry is done by delivery agents but amzn guidlines say delivery has to be attempted even if ur phone was off or whatever. (ithink 2 extra attemps )
now one thing to keep in mind is agents delivery a lot o parcels per day & already overburdened with work so be considerate.
so u can always order POD, check parcel for damage etc and only then pay agent after you receive the parcel using non-upi methods.
worst case scenario if parcel is returned by crooked agent then who caares your money is not stuck
It is India not US. Here ppl scam ecomm portals too.
i do understand your POV as common sense is Rarest in india but again because of few bad apples rest of us should not suffer is the common sense.
previously amazon was kind aand returns were easy but nowadays amazon follws zero trust scrutiny as they ask thousand questions, photos from thousand angles, date, name etc and escalations at multiple levels before they give judgement.
its true that india is full of scammy people but its a totally separate issue and amazon already have systems in place & even now using AI to confirm and reject fake claims.
they should add return policy too ,too much hassle from service centre replacement, and they should stop giving delivery guys right to return without trying to attempt delivery
