They canceled my request but not allowed prepaid
You don't get safe custody option in Jio like Airtel.
Postpaid Jio gets more commission for agent & recurring revenue for company, so they're pushing it.
Their prepaid/postpaid is the same anyway since you're paying in advance. Also, they'be got installation fee & security in prepaid whereas Airtel gives it for free.
I faced the same with my installation last month. Jio is shady AF, it's really suggested to avoid it as much as possible. I just went with Airtel which is a much better experience.
There's no need of safe custody option in case of Jio Fiber Prepaid anyway. Beyond on the initial installation, security deposit and 1 month recharge there's no advance payment in case of Prepaid! I recharge once every few months as an when required (mostly coinciding with Test series) Following Jio's true UL 5G (vs shady Airtel's pathetic 300GB FUP) I have recharged maybe twice or thrice. The Rs 1000 non-refundable amount is usually compensated by the freedom to not recharge every month if not required. Plus Jio usually gives once or twice free 30 days vouchers in case of no use for some months. Airtel charges a significant amount for safe custody as well.
Tweet the same tagging Jio and TRAI with relevant proofs (if you have any)
Today agent called, i told him i will pay only after installation if it is postpaid and bill only after i use service. He refused i said NO.
Let everyone tell jio what postpaid is and pay only after installation. Tweet and let the world know
Booked Air Fibre today only, no such tantrums were thrown by Jio service executive.
Jio trying every possible dirty trick to push Airfiber.
Received reply on twetter "Hey, we are here to help. Kindly be informed that with effect from 24th May 2024, NEW prepaid acquisition is stopped. " @SuperSubrata @playdime @LIMBO @alokatzenith @GeekyNoob
Why do one need to pay upfront charges then? 🤔
Same. Have recently installed Jio fiber and after installation saw on "MyJio" app that it is a postpaid connection. I wasn't informed of this.
Can we now ask CC to convert it to prepaid?
