Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb, who is at the centre of controversy for making irresponsible statements which triggered widespread criticism, on Tuesday said that no one can touch his government and if anyone tries, his nails will be uprooted.

The remark by the Tripura CM comes even after Prime Minister Narendra Modi asked party leaders to refrain from making “irresponsible” statements, saying such comments hurt the party’s image.

In an interaction with the party’s MPs, MLAs and other representatives, Modi had said that leaders at times jump to make statements in front of the media and end up providing “masala” (fodder to controversies). There is no point then blaming it for controversies, he said.
