Macbook m1 is available at 51990 on Amazon.

I am thinking to buy a laptop as I am using 2010 configuration Intel Dual Core 2.6Ghz Desktop till date although it is slow and I am just ok with that.
.
My usage are quite normal as Internet browsing, Microsoft office, PDF, Photos and Videos storage and editing for birthday, anniversary video.
.
Or suggest best configuration and build quality laptop as alternate.

But what about life of Chromebook. It might survive for 3 years and I presume minimum life of macbook is 10 years with one battery replacement.

I have a mac book pro purchased in October 2014 (late 2012) model, still working great.
I just upgraded RAM to 16GB that is maximum allowed (Mac Books that time didn't have soldered rams, so was plug and play), battery has gone down, but still lasts better than my wife's two year old Lennovo laptop.
Apple products are built to last, but buy a higher configuration like RAM and Hard Disk as they can't be upgraded now if you want them to last long.

Have Air 2014 model. Only the keyboard is gone (some keys don't work). So switched to external keyboard along with monitor. Going well so far, except for OS updates.

OP: I got macbook pro M1 (8gb/512gb) in June 2021, it’s been 3+ years and it never felt slow. Can still edit 1080p videos without any issues but 4k shows the struggle.
My laptop battery capacity is 84% but I still get 10hrs of normal browsing. As per your usage, M1 would be a perfect fit. No idea why people here saying no just cause it’s old or 8gb ram. It’s like iPhone 16 comes with 8gb ram and everyone saying it’s slow as compared to 16gb phones. It’s useless.

Windows OS is king but but but..
Apple Silicon (ARM processor) is truly awesome.
However, I've never used it because Apple is a bad company. 😀
If you have the money, go ahead and get the latest M4 Mac Mini.
