Israel and Divided States of Murica are each other's w_o_e.
So unless both (tentatively) agree on something tactical, strategic.. it is difficult for Israel to execute it.
And although we are living in a 'woke' world now.. sometimes (even in old days) things are more symbolic.
Over the years, Israel taking out the chief of their nuclear research facilities, targeting the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) personnel and obviously the killing of various foreign personnel.. on Irani soil.. were all .. BIG symbolic messages.
To pester Israel.. Iran chose to humour the proxies (example: Houti, Hezb, Hama..s).
But when holding on to power seems difficult.. it us always a low hanging fruit.. to start a war or evoke pseudo nationalism.. to divert attention.
The Ayatollah had to eventually do something to reinforce that mother Iran was not weak or that all those targeted killings on Irani soil.. needs to be avenged.
Then Benjamin Hitler did ungli👈🏼 poked finger directly.. by addressing the Irani people.. by giving a speech in English.
Iran was like.. abhi ruk tu.. tu dekh.. bahot ho gaya.

A nuclear capable country can fire a nuclear capable missile on another nuclear capable country.
The missile, allegedly not loaded with any explosives, even lands on the territory of the other country..
Still.. two and half years later.. the ministers from the country firing the BrahMos are entertained to a lavish dinner on the sidelines of XYZ summit.
(Aur apna waala.. chala bhi gaya! Zoom par nipta deta uss conference ko.. tou flights ka kharcha bachta. Barely stayed there for 24 hours anyway.)
Now.. EVERYONE knows that the embargo on Iran is such a sham.
Yes all other industries except petroleum and gas.. have stagnated in Iran.. but petroleum and gas .. alongbwith their geo-strategic location.. gives them (Iran) enough power to have their cake and eat it too.
Even in recent years.. their missiles or drones and aviation sector still has western made or Taiwan made components in them.
Some of those integrated chips (IC) or electronics (found in drones, rockets, missiles) are as recently manufactured as the 2020s.
So both Divided States and Israel, rest of the world are well aware that although some of the older infrastructure, older assets (older Irani missiles) are not worth bothering about.. Iran still has a lot of fire power and VERY capable research personnel.
(I personally know MANY successful and talented Iranians.. doing exceptionally well in the corporate world, medicine and sensitive sectors too.. in North America,.)
Israel, U.S. thus gave Iran almost a month to secure its assets and empty its main port which Iran uses to export oil and gas (which is over half its GDP)... till it (Israel,l finally responded today (Saturday, October 26, 2024) with direct strikes.. but aimed mostly non civilian targets.
It is almost an open secret that Turkish Airlines or others might easily be used to supply Iran with even the most sophisticated components of missile guidance systems.
While the main parts, technical know-how are supplied by Democratic People's Republic of Korea, People's Republic of China, others.
Russia remembers well that fighting through proxies, in Afghanistan .. did not yield it much.. except heartburn.
Thus Russia is in no mood to be the source of main nuclear capable tactical hardware.. to Iran.
Russia does however excitedly and happily arm/use Iran as a front to tackle NATO and the western bloc.
China.. on the other hand.. does NOT want Iran to get so ruined.. that it ceases to be a conduit of China's trade with the rich Europe and others.
China.. although would not want Iran to go back to the pre-1979 era.. does not either want Iran to take things so far.. that cargo or pipelines (Chinese trade) get impacted.
And trade is what China REALLY needs.. to gradually replace Divided States of Murica as the big daddy.
Now that Israel has proven to its people.. that look.. we did something..
.. Benjamin can and will hold on to power longer.. with pre October 07, 2023 criticism of his party.. now sidelined with the events post October 07.
Even today though, Israel is not able to do all this without NATO and U.S. warships in the region helping Israel from getting its ass whooped.
Thus, while U.S. is checking or claiming to check Israel,
China is putting pegs on Iran to not blow its (China's) dreams of world domination.
This, as far as I see it, would remain an issue.. but Iran, Israel would not go too far or all out in it.
Neither Iran, nor Israel is at the 'i got nothing more to loose' stage and thus neither can afford to act like a crazed, raging bull.
Once this posturing is done, once they have proven a point each and present big brothers on both sides come down to reign them in.. (as i see it) both (Iran, Israel) will go back to playingdoctor-doctor proxy-proxy (Houti, Syria, Lebanon, Palestine).
