Once upon a time, there was a rush for everyone to buy an iPhone as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Back then, many people were using Samsung and Nokia phones. Now, look at today: among 10 people, 09 have iPhones, specifically models above X, 11, 12, 13, and 15.
It’s similar to the time when Duke and KTM were popular. Also, five out of every ten guys started purchasing KTMs, which earned the name as "Chhapri bike."
When it comes to iPhone vs. Samsung, only the rich businesspeople, architects, and Class 1 officers use Samsung's Ultra series. It’s like when we used Samsung, we dreamed of having an iPhone. Now that we have iPhones, getting a Samsung Ultra series seems difficult for many!

OP, where are these people that you are looking at? Even the US doesn't have 9 out of 10 iPhone users unless you are looking at a US university campus where there is a whole blue bubble-green bubble classism (iMessage on iPhones v/s SMS on Androids).
I have an interesting anecdote to share. I recently moved homes with the newer home being in a somewhat more posh building compared to the previous. In the elevators, I see a lot more iPhones compared to the previous building, with women and teenagers far outnumbering men in terms of iPhone ownership. The previous building had a lot more Samsungs and Chinese brands 😄
Apple, and generally Americans, are the probably the best at marketing their brands/products though they may or may not be the best in functionality or value for money.
If coming to the functionality then Apple has some more satisfying functionality then android (I used both professionally) The difference between iOS & Android is that you buy 12K android & use it as you want to like download themes & designs (Stupidity level - Applying iPhone launcher & themes to android & setting iPhone ringtone on android) where Apple sells you phone at 60K but maintained it's theme in such a way from years are no one cared about its interface as it looks cool
Regarding Samsung then, Those of Ultra series which cost above 1 Lac somehow feel professional according to price but again high chances of downloading unnecessary APK's!!
But the fact is that people are opting for iPhone on EMI's & they may clear them in 6 - 8 months but will they ever be ready to take ULTRA & S series of Samsung on EMI & pay EMI for 2 years?
I moved from Blackberry to Samsung (S and Note series) to Google and now settled on iPhone.
First thing first, I love Samsung S series phones with edge Super AMOLED display so is the note series. They were VFM as they had something 'substantial' uniqueness which no other phone offered.
Looking at new age Samsung S series phones, they look and feel like iPhone. Nothing unique!
On the other hand, iPhones are very well built. Quality inside out. I still hold my iPhone 5s in great condition while I use iPhone 11 and iPhone 14. My wife finally moved to iPhone. From Samsung Galaxy S9 to iPhone 15. She hated iPhone however she is a convert now 😄
Even today, while iPhone is 'common', with iPhone, just like Mercs and Bimmers, you don't have to tell which model. Just say iPhone. That's it. Such is the brand image.
Look at this. I'm sad to see the design similarity 😕
Absolutely right! Even it has limitations and less freedom, iPhone is certainly not a bad phone, but one of the best phone category (video quality wise best phone). But the problem is too much availability among a certain group named as 'chapri' in social media. I'm afraid it may become second 'ktm bike'. People simply don’t want to be associated with chapri tag (including me). And if you consider S24 ultra, its feels totally different on its look, appearance and on many aspects. Samsung has successfully associated its brand name with office going people, businessmen, simply put, with respectable jobs. Not with tiktok chapris like iPhone.
