A Reddit post exposed a 19-year-old Indian student who submitted a fraudulent application, claiming the death of his father, to secure admission and a scholarship at Lehigh University in Pennsylvania. He pleaded guilty to forgery and agreed to return to India as part of a plea deal.

He posted on reddit about his confession- I have built my life and career on lies and fraud

He could have been sentenced to 10 to 20 years in prison for his crime, the 19-year-old will only face expulsion and deportation back to India, thanks to a plea deal with the university.

As part of the deal, Anand agreed to return to India and Lehigh University agreed not to pursue restitution of $85,000, the news release says. The release says charges of theft and tampering with records were dropped.

Anand was arrested and charged April 30, the news release says.

He was playing "catch me if you can"
Right, wrong or whatever, but his attempt to show off ended the fun ride.

First, he committed a crime and posted about it on Reddit. Now, he has to pay $85,000.

He deserves it.
