China and India are locked yet again in a stand-off of Himalayan proportions. Almost five weeks after Indian troops trespassed and forcibly halted the activities of a Chinese road construction crew on a narrow plateau at the China-Bhutan-India tri-junction area in the Sikkim Himalayas, the two sides appear no closer to resolving their quarrel. The area in question, Doklam, is the subject of a legal dispute between China and Bhutan, is under the effective jurisdiction of China, and holds an important security interest to India.

The restoration of the status quo ante in the Doklam area will be a protracted affair. Unlike previous impasses on their disputed Himalayan frontier earlier this decade, which coincided with a warming phase in ties and were wound down with the exhibition of good sense on both sides, bilateral ties have hit a sour patch. China, as the aggrieved party, bears little interest in unwinding the stand-off on terms other than its own. Worse, there is no agreed definition among the parties of the object of discord at stake – to the point that China does not even view India as the appropriate interlocutor to engage with to unwind the stand-off.

China’s position on, and solution to, the stand-off is blunt and straightforward. The alignment of the China-India boundary in the Sikkim Himalayas sector is mutually defined as per Article 1 (“the line commences at Mount Gipmochi on the Bhutan frontier, and follows the … water-parting”) of the Anglo-Chinese Convention of 1890 relating to Sikkim and Tibet. On numerous occasions, Indian representatives from Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru down have formally accepted this.

By interfering in a Chinese road construction project roughly 3km to the north of the plain letter of Article 1, India has violated China’s territorial sovereignty. As a precondition for any dialogue, India must vacate its trespass unconditionally.

To the extent that the area in question is the subject of a dispute due to Bhutan’s belated claim to the area in the 14th round of Sino-Bhutanese boundary talks, this is wholly a matter between Beijing and Thimpu. Until such time, Bhutan – let alone India, which has no locus standi to intervene – must respect China’s effective jurisdiction over the Doklam area

let’s not talk about Jawahar Lal Nehru policy on China, we all know the result and shame we felt after the war, today also when we talk about the war they simply send some memory of the war. also if u want to talk about politics, we all know about congress party and their corruption, the level of corruption they have done can’t be reached if the corruption of all other countries combined together, and these are the list of corruption which was revealed when they were ruling and whole CBI and police were under their control, the flame of corruption raised so high that even they cannot hide, I support China in this context when they know about the corruption of one of the popular man of China “metro man of China”, they blasted him in front of the tank, in India first they stole money then they buy police judge lawyer and make then delay the hearing of some 21-25 years and after that this case passes through 1 level to another and finally the government realises the total time and money spent is more than the corruption amount eg. “Bofors tank”. and if u really want to talk about not interfering about helping Bhutan because it’s their war then no one will help during Indian China Pakistan war because everyone will tell the same why would I interfere between 2 countries. also by helping Bhutan from China actually Indian trying to help himself otherwise China foreign policy can be seen from Pakistan side

India is not interested in protecting Bhutan or keeping Army at their land but we are trying to protect ourselves instead. If a snake enters neighbor’s house then we can’t just sit and relax thinking it is neighbor’s problem and that Snake will bite them only and won’t enter our house. We are bound to get alert.

Two Options:

1. Neighbor stand up and kill it before it bites their own family. But this is not the case as neighbor is weak itself and fear Snake.

2. We move into his house and capture/kill the Snake so that neither neighbor has to worry nor us.

We already did mistake by having Panchsheel agreement and losing half of Tibet, and if things were done properly at that time half of Tibet would have been ours. Don’t you heard how Tibet people are not interested in being a Chinese territory but as they are weak, can’t do much. Even those Tibetans who left it came to India tells that China has captured Tibet by force and using their resources to its own benefits. Now same China after having control over Tibet giving devil’s eye to India as we share our borders with Tibet to large extent. Had Tibet been a free country, China wouldn’t have thought of entering Indian territory. They are doing same with Bhutan as it has Hydel Power Capacity to large extent because of rivers.

Same China asks India not to interfere in those areas which are disputed lands like Tibet or Bhutan and then they use PoK land which is also disputed territory. They are eyeing Arunachal Pradesh since 1962 not because they think it’s their part or they want to develop it but to have resources only.

Every country had no problem from India until there was a inactive Govt at centre who were not interested in protecting interest of country and for them India was just a place that can be sold to anyone. Now when a Govt that acts strongly by letting its own people know the truth, world is having problem from us. Until we were sleep, world had no problem when now when we are half-awake their plans of looting this country and using its market to own benefit is getting shattered to some extent. If countries like China do something it’s their right and if we do same, it’s against policies. So are we just here to be used and exploited? China thought that when own people a.k.a Congress can loot their own people then why not we? We should use our chance by demeaning everything that is Indian whether people or economy.
