Dormant is nothing to worry, They just turn off online and other channels including international to prevent misuse. All you have to do is open the settins and manage channels and limits once again.
Using card once in a while is a good idea, otherwise one may lose card as it is anyway unutilised and without any due too.
i think auto closer limit is 1 year
Just adding info:
I think its 6 months (hence why they want us to do atleast one transaction in 6 months)
HDFC UPI floater card need this one transaction in 6 months to not have it closed in T&C (seen in the website)
so i guess its 6months:)
add the card somewhere in the cred/cheq app, it will deduct 2rs and refund it. Using this trick, the card will remain active always.
so once in 6 months or 5months we have to do this? add and removal and add?
Pay 1rs extra to your card, and they will not be able to close. However, it's not possible with all banks, only some bank allow like icici, axis, one card they all allow payment through upi & bank account number and ifsc he I was able to pay 1rs extra. But I am not sure about hdfc credit card if there is any such way for hdfc card.
Place an order with such cards and cancel it before shipping.. Use it in Meesho where they take 4-5 days to ship your order and cancel it before shipping.
This will reflect in your unbilled transactions and will be refunded in 2-3 days.
For me, meesho sometimes ship on same day of order
As per RBI directive, the time limit is 1yr and intimated before that through SMS and then may be closed...

I also faced same rekyc was not going through. Customer care told me to just modify any limits on card control and this will work.
for new issue card 1 month for old card its 1 year
For new card, you must activate it within 30 days else they will close it..for old cards, 1 year is the limit, if there is no transaction in the card, they will close it
Pure Incorrect Information 🚫.
1. Rule is 30d TAT for newly approved card to activate & make a transaction, otherwise card will be cancelled on 30th days as per RBI directive.
2. Second rule for activated/old cards is you have to make atleast 1 transaction in an year to keep card active otherwise card will be cancelled after 1 year of last transaction as per RBI directive.
Hope it helps ❤️.
